    Ancasta,

Thanks I should not complain as normally I have very good health.

So it is such a pain in the bum when you can't do what you want to do. But my back has been iffy on and off for years.

Good excuse to stay in bed. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey

Back! Film was great and worth seeing at the cinema. Wont say anything more, but if you are thinking of taking kids-they do say the p*ss word a few times and the first word is bloody

Took sarnies and flask with us, but OH & DD had a double bacon cheeseburger each as we had a BOGOF voucher ;) Been after a mirror for hallway for ages and found one in a new Asda Home/Elite store (never heard of one before) its quite a large mirror in a gold gilt for £12.00 :D I saw another in Next catalogue last week which was slightly smaller for £80  so grabbed the one today :o sorry!!!

I have left over shepards pie/veg for dinner tonight and think OH & DD are having dippy egg/chips with bread/butter.

    Still flippin cold here.

  • Afternoon all,
Its my 1st posting on the daily thread but hope it will be one of many.

Had a really busy day today, DD4 starts school sept2006 so we went to the open morning of local school. She got stuck in straight away so hopefully won't have any problems when the time comes. Came home for lunch, fed the troops and said goodbye to O/H as hes working away till sunday. Massive pile of ironing done house clean and tidy and made tomato & pasta soup(nigella style) of tea.

Its freezing here in yorkshire and were off to the christmas light-up in the village later followed by pie & mushy pies (huge potion for only a £1 !!!) then home to warm up and watch children in need.

Hope you all have a great evening.

    Hi All,

Blimey, isnt it cold allof a sudden? I've has the heating on today to take the chilll out.

Had another driving lesson this afternoon which went well but still no indication of when I can book up for my practical. Am trying to decide if I am really that bad at it or if the instructor is trying to squeeze more money out of me. I've had 37 hours now, is that normal?!?
Had a word with the health visitor while I was at the clinic about DS2's potty training. She's said put him back in nappies 27/7 until the spring - he obviously isn't feeling the 'sensation' all the time yet, and we've got into this viscious circle of trying to get him there. Ah well, like I can afford a 3 1/2 yo to be in nappies still :)

Weird or what TM, I hadEXACTLY the same conversation with my HV just yesterday about my DS, also 2. She said boys can be lazy  she should know, shes mum to 5 of em!!! She said he doesnt know when "its" coming and doesnt mind sitting in a dirty nappy so is obviously not ready. Is REALLY annoying as DD1 was trained before she was 2 and it only took her 2 days. I really dont know how long to leave it as I dont want him going to preschool still in nappies. He is due to start in May.

Already very dark here, curtains all shut (to keep in the warmth as much as anything) and kiddies snuggled on settee watching tv. Chicken casserole in SC for DH, hei nformed me at 2.30 that it was casserole weekend or some such thing and wanted it for tea-tonight  Thanks for the warning

Off to browse whilst drinking my coffee,

    Enjoy your evenings all,
    Al.

PS-(((HUGS))) to all lurkers who dont feel up to chatting lately- we miss you.

    Hi all

Well, the children are getting slightly better. As they now know that I'll be staying in their class until the end of term, we drew up a "class contract". This is what I expect their behaviour to be like and what they want me to do in return. What I do in return all seems to be down to bribery!! I need to find some cheap "prizes" to give out to the best table at the end of the week AND the person with the neatest handwriting etc. I imagine it'll soon get onto person with the most original pets name. Just so long as it keeps them settled.....

Supper is in the oven. I'm attempting to do Jamie Oliver's chili con carne from his "Happy Days" book for the first ever time. I've used his recipe to the letter (including the expensive ingredients), so it had better be worth it! At least there'll be enough to freeze for another time. :D And it's cheaper than going out for a meal and definitely cheaper than eating at Jamie's restaurant.

Anyway, better go and see how it's all going with my new recipe!

Just managed to book seats for two of my daughters to see Harry Potter tomorrow.

DH will give them a lift in to York as it starts at 10 am!

Has a call from buy cosmetics on line about the parcel that had gone missing - they will replace it and deliver on Tuesday with the free £25 of cosmetics included:j

    More wrapping on Tuesday then!

I got a set of hair straighteners delivered today as a gift for a New Woman subscription with a letter saying I was too late for that offer but that as a gesture of goodwill they had managed to find a set for me :j

Spent hours with youngest on her homework but - at last - she has got it!!! Much happier now.

Best wishes to Curry Queen and Queenie - it is not the same without you.
