brrrr it is so cold. frost is still all over my garden. heating is on , kids both asleep. my daughter has a viral infection and her temp yesterday was 104. so all she is doing in sleeping and drinking. i keep giving her , her medicine. and i think my little boy is gettin something aswell , cause he woke at half 6 had a bottle , slept till half 7 then had breakfast and i got him washed and dressed and he fell asleep having his bottle at half 8.
not very O/S today , had homemade bread with butter on for breakfast , having pizza for lunch (29p tesco mega frozen reduction. yummy ) and for tea i have some gammon steaks defrosting. might have mash pot with it cause don't fancy chips.
realised i have about £40 to spend on xmas pressies for everyone. so think i will try and make some. never mind it isn't how much u spend u it the thought that counts.

Had the gas boiler check done this morning by a Corgi engineer and it is fine. For lunch I'm having a left over cornish pasty from what I made a couple of days ago. My parents are coming round this afternoon and then they are picking the kids up from school for me today and taking them round theirs overnight. My boyfriend is coming here tonight for the weekend from London and I havn't seen him for 12 days. I can't wait!! I miss him soooo much when he's not here. So I know I'm going to have a good weekend. :T :T

Car passed the MOT, nothing extra to pay, and he changed the oil and filter (which I had already purchased) for no extra charge.

    Nice money saving day...:j

  • Lol - I had to think about that one as we've never had to associate it with an animal, it's the sound a firework makes :D (And I had to remember we weren't in The Arms either :naughty: .

DS2 is on the waiting list at the mo as he's had hearing probs (chronic glue ear) since his 8 month check up and is now nearly 5!! Affected his speech big style. He had a bit of speech therapy (hence the rabbit 'fff' thing!) but they said he would have to have gromets for the speech therapy to be beneficial (makes sense) Thankfully, over the summer he FINALLY had his gromets put in and had a review the other day which showed his hearing is normal :T :j His speech has improved dramatically so I knew it must have worked ok, but there are a few little problems left (mind you, by the time he gets an appt they prob would have rectified themselves.)

What about your DS2 Ticklemouse? Is it hearing related??

    Hi Yall,

Talking of speech development my DD had problems due to having very poor hearing since birth. Grommets didn't work and various other opperations havn't done much either. At one point they did manage to get her hearing up to 60%:j during this short window of 'good' hearing I taught her all the letter sounds and even though her hearing has deteriorated further her speech is still excellent and remarkable she can sing perfectly in pitch.
She is a proud, independant little madam and she doesn't like people to know her hearing is shot and she taught herself to lip read at the age of two to compensate which is really useful if I need to pass her a message during prayers at church:D She gets grumpy cos her brother was allowed out a bit on his own at the age she is now but I dare not let her go out alone cos she can't always hear traffic.
The problem I have now is that they still don't know how to sort her hearing and now Mrs MATH no longer had private healthcare after loosing her job the same consultant who would see me whenever as a private client now has no NHS appointments for the next thee months:mad:

Having read Ol'Style for yonks it amazes me just what remarkable and special kidz we Ol'Stylers have, I know a number of you have kidz who for various reasons don't have regular me, me,me,want, want, want, lives. They're great arn't they?

No, my DS2 has Verbal Dyspraxia - he can't make his mouth form the right shapes to speak. I had it picked up by 18 months as I knew he wasn't developing his speech properly so by the time I'd been on the list for 12-18 months, he managed to start proper speech therapy around his 3rd birthday. It will take a while but he should be OK in a few years. So, for all you mums (and dads) out there, if you think something isn't right, call your health visitor and make sure you get your child referred. :)

Good job I know what he's saying - it can be embarrassing. eg. 'Four fish' comes out as '!!!!! pish" :D (ok, the !!!!! is also spelled 'hoar')

Yes - my DS1 was discussing Christmas pressies last night. He wants a new bike (which Santa will be bringing) but wants to go back to the shop to look for a cheaper one so that I'll have more money to put towards our 2008 holiday fund.:) He realises that things you want have to be saved up for.

Bless him though, I asked him what I could get. He thought long and hard and said ' a breakfast tray' 'Why?' says I? 'So Daddy can bring you breakfast in bed' :D 'When you want your breakfast, shout to daddy and he can bring it up' (Some hope :D:D) Oh, and I can get a beautiful (hair) bobble!!

BTW, has anyone heard from C_Q and Queenie this week? Hope they are OK.

Just taking 5 at lunch. Been away "on business" for a couple of days. This is a very very rare occurence, and in some respects a nice treat. But glad to be back. Need to go through the cupboards/fridge/freezer this evening to assess state of play on the Grocery front. I'm sure there are some veggies to be "dealt with" before they go over.

Hopefully going to have time to wrap Christmas pressies up this w/e. Determined not to buy anymore wrapping supplies: I've plenty of recycled cards for tags/ribbon etc, but I'm just a bit low on paper, I think. Might be able to salvage some kraft paper from my Boots.com order .... ummm......and I'm sure I've some white tissue paper somewhere.....

Any one want my bad back. Thought I might suffer today as had problems yesterday standing up straight but put that down to something else.

Carried two bags of shopping back to car for my mum yesterday. And it did twinge. And even got of bed fine at about 5.30 am to see who was scraping there cars this morning. Snuggled back in bed and got up at 9am to hardly being able to walk without pain. Have pain shooting down my leg as well.

Suppose to have a job interview monday morning at 10am. Don't think so if this keeps up. Hot water bottle time.

Just about managed to strip the beds and put it the machine and then on the line.

This weekend will be money saving as I can't go anywhere. Never mind such is life.

And it is cold and made worse by the fact that I can't move around much so need to have the heating one.

    Yours

    Calley
