    Mornin...

Just crawled out of bed and come down to make porridge for the first time this year! I know its winter now. Gotta potter about cleaning/tidying up today.. still not understanding how i make so much mess alone?! Then i think its a baking day today.. dunno why.. i just feel like baking! :D

Meant to be going up to my parents though to get their opinion about the best course of action regarding my pending unemployment and inability to pay my rent... specially since OH has thrown a spanner in the works AGAIN by taking a strop (and not telling me what over!) ... so the agreed plan of me moving in with him has been messed up  urgh MEN! ( minus squeaky + math of course ;) )

Think lunch will be something warm.. maybe soup and a buttie. And tea might be organic burgers and homemade chips.. not exactly the most traditional sunday dinner but still...!

Have a nice day everyone... and wrap up warm! :j

    Morning

Am exhausted this morning and the left side of my neck is swollen and uncomfortable, and my left ear is blocked. Think im coming down with some nasty illness which I cant really afford but it might mean a day of sick tomorrow. Im sick and tired of going into work feeling ill only for someone else to be ill and take the time off (especially when it is probably spurious because we know that person is off some of that week anyway because they are going on holiday).

Well, im not feeling ill enough to cancel my shopping plans anyway - im going to Ikea to buy a wardrobe come hell or high water and I must pick up my freecycle item today too. Ill make a roast chicken later. I intended to have a full day shopping but ive decided to take it easier anyway and just do a bit.

Anyway, im going to take a shower and get ready - fortunately I did all the cleaning when I got home from work yesterday so I dont have to do that today.

Anyway - take care all - hope you all have a good day!

    Jo xx

  • Hiya everyone :j

Got the house to myself for an hour as Mr TM has taken BOTH boys to mass (I don't 'do' mass cos I'm not catholic and now point blank refuse to go since Mr TM told me to convert  C of E is fine for me ta) Even managed a lie in (well, boys kept coming in for a cuddle :))

Surprisingly I don't have a sore head, cos Mr TM introduced me to the delights of the dirty vimto last night. That's a double port and a bottle of WKD blue and it really does taste like vimto. I seem to recall having 3 as well as 2 bottles of WKD  And I don't usually drink more than a baileys coffee or hot choccy and cointreau!! So, I have my porridge and prunes (I could eat this every day of the year) and some sort of herbal detoxing brew.

Today, I need to put BM on and think about tea, cos something will have to be defrosted. Had a CQ lamb bhuna last night, which was scrummy. Have some veggie shepherds pie in the fridge which will do for lunch. Mr TM still hasn't worked out it's veggie, because I put a tin of sweetcorn in, which has quite a strong taste and the quorn took on that taste too :D

Am also going to do a dreaded B&Q run. If I want my dining room done before Xmas, I'll have to get on with it, so I shall get what I need today and pack up my ornaments etc later. Isn't there still 10% off at B&Q? I'm just going to repaint to freshen it up - repapering can wait until next time.

Mountain of ironing will keep me company tonight and upstairs needs a good vac, but may get some else to do that.

Off for my shower before the men folk return. Have a great day everyone

Hi Yall, I'm not usually around at this time on a Sunday morning (Methodist - not Catholic or CofE I'm afraid TM;) ) but mini MATHLETT has a birthday party to go to in a hour. Looking at the frost on the MATHMOBILE I think I will walk him up cos it's only 10 mins away and it would take me that long to scrape the car.
The day at chez MATH is looking quite busy. Already got WM/DW/TD and ironing done. Paid2click and surveys also taken care of for the day.

Lunch is left over chilli which we will bolt down as soon as Mrs MATH and the other two MATHLETTS are back from chapel and then a quick dart off to Asda so I can pick a new everyday dinner service cos my old one had done 15yrs hard graft and has no glaze or pattern left. Probably pop into MIL's who lives next door to Asda (handy that) and hopefully we will be back in time to pick mini MATHLETT up from his party.

Tea (Sunday's is the only day we have tea instead of Dinner) will be fruit, sarnies and some HM cakes I bought from the church Christmas Fayre yesterday. The cake stall alone raised over £300 and sold out in 15 mins:eek: Peeps in the know around here turn up with bicuit tins and ask for 4 dox mince pies, 2 doz anzac biscuits and as many macaroons as you can fit in this bag:D (Lucky I'm well in with the cake-baking sister-hood and got my selection before the doors were opened):j . then off to chapel tonight and back for Corrie.

No wonder Hollywood is pestering me for the rights to my life story! Oh the adventure, the romance, the excitement:p

I'm going to try that, cheers :A (sounds a lot nicer than raw eggs)

Thanks for the coffee Nels, I caught the Archers (most off).

Why are you reading this and not getting your packing done? :p Don't forget.... cloning kit is ready. Have a great time Hun.

TM, I have to do a B&Q trip (my paintbrushes are past it) today too. And I've been putting off an Ikea run (crocks) for ages.

MATH, I think your life story will be a Hollywood blockbuster; icon10.gif Are you selling them the uncensored version then?

It is freezing here too, but the sun is shining.

Yesterday I went to the local market at dusk, just as it was closing and got reduced price chestnuts, raspberries, pears and melons. It felt Christmassy for the first time, with the coloured lights, stalls full of Chrismas wrapping, buskers on every corner, mostly really good classical musicians at this time of year, which is lovely. Lots more people about than usual and that really lovely, "hey, this is nice" mood was widespread. Children were laughing and adults were smiling. Stayed out for ages just enjoying it.icon7.gif

Having a "raw food" day today, unless I get too tempted by one of CQ's fantastic recipes that is.icon10.gif

My big Christmas indulgence every other year is a really good tree. The place I get them from ain't cheap, but the (potted) trees are everything a Christmas tree should be. They are full and fat, like something straight off a victorian christmas card. Time to put in an order I think.

    Enjoy Sunday :hello:
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    hi everyone;)
had a lie in - kids didnt surface til 9.30! Were knackered after yesterday - ds first day at footy training and he scored a goal :) I'm so proud because he's not v confident with that kinda stuff (stopped from doing p.e. at school a lot of times but thats another story)
Watched chickens pecking around my frozen garden, did a bIG roast and a giant yorkshire pud, gooseberry crumble and custard. Bit disappointed as the beef was in actual fact salt beef so it could have done with soaking and boiling, but it wasn't labelled as such  ah well. Got started on my week's meal plan - always do it on a sunday. Need to make some bread later. Won't do the usual sunday dinner soup for tea as ds decided he likes broccoli (purple sprouting) so polished the whole lot off. Carrots all eaten up cos i crinkle cut them today. Done about 4 loads of washing, played with thomas's big loader, dusted fromt room, cleaned kitchen, cleaned bathroom a bit. Found most of the christmas stockings, nearly sucked carpet up with new vacuum cleaner. Think ds2 needs a new carpet! Lit a fire in the front room but its not doing too well. Freezing cold but I refuse to heat the house all day it costs a fortune.
I think I need a rest but I expect the usual sunday afternoon outing to the park will be on the cards, though I wouldn't mind staying in all day!
We have 'tea' on a sunday too MATH:) Sandwiches and pickles or soup and toast, or cheese and biscuits. I tell the kids it's what nanna used to have and they need to learn what things used to be like. They love it!

I've had a lovely weekend with my boyfriend but he had to go home today so now I'm all upset. It seems like such a long wait until I'll see him again and his teenage daughter isn't making things any easier.

OH was so tired last night decided to have a no alarm day today. I woke up about 8.30 but dozed on and off until OH woke up about 11, then watched countryfile in bed :o - so haven't been up very long :o - well only a couple of hours - done some dysoning ;) tidied up a bit then OH had some online orders to pack etc, so been doing them.

Need to sort out my finances a bit this afternoon - and work out how I'm doing for OH's birthday in a couple of weeks and what things I've bought should be for Christmas and what for his Birthday.

Must finish writing and sending out my birthday thank yous and go through my stuff to get rid of box in search of other things I can try and sell ;)

Dinner is a sort of hunters chicken with mash and veg again as it went down well last week - done 2 loads of washing so far this weekend but sure I can do some more this afternoon too, towels are probably a likely contender.

Hope everyone has a good day and doesn't get too cold - chickening out and staying in today ;)

  • Hiya

Well I havent really rested today..LOL, but thats the way it goes normally.

OH has finished the painting on the stairs and around door frames, but is going to do another coat either later today or tomorrow :D Have just done 35 ebay auctions (took pictures/listed etc) on Turbo lister and uploaded them for a week ;) Have started everything at 99p, so even if I sell at opening bids thats £35 in the kitty-and every penny helps :T

Dinner is still a roast but only had 2 chicken breasts, so OH is having spice chicken coujons-weird concoction but they needed using. Have got a frozen strawberry shortcake for desert-dont normally have puddings but found it in freezer and thought it would be a nice treat.

Think Im going to have a nice soak later and have an early night.
