Silvercharming and Dave(hugs) to you both x What a nice boss Dave has. Scrambled egg is good, or strangled egg as my DGD says:D and milk puddings, baked and mashed potato, soups, but not strong flavoured ones like Mulligatawny.Just need something that digests easily.

Troo Nope definitely not me:rotfl: I`m not keen on the turquoise bar either. I think shez is right it looks more american than british,

beemuzzed no you`re not the only one I thought they looked older too, especially the 30`s one.

Pink the benefit sytem is a real nightmare, they do eventually get things sorted but it takes an age, and you need it NOW not in a few weeks time, could`nt you just scream:eek:

Well I got the sewing done, Mum will be pleased, 4 skirts shortened and all pressed and ready to take over tomorrow, thought I may as well do the ironing while I was doing them, so I`ve now got a nice empty basket;) I did a load of washing as well, the weather dried up and the sun came out, so I just about made a load up, another empty basket;)
I`ve been watching the opening ceremony, wow what a fantastic sight, the Chinese have just entered the arena, the flag bearer is over 7foot, he`s a basketball player, could`nt be anything else the size of him.:D

    time for :coffee:

Also thinkling of Kathy and family here.
(((hugs))) to those in need today.
Glad Dave is doing OK - plain meals are tricky to think of but maybe he will be happy for plain chicken and plain rice with the odd bit of scrambled eggs for a change for a while? Steamed white fish? You are doing a great job!
Taplady - sorry to hear that the hospital appt was not what was expected - very annoying. Glad you had some food afterwards though action-smiley-033.gif
Am boiling some new potatoes just now, just for meeeeeeeeeee to have with pretend butter and lots of salt. Tea time seems just too far away and it's just what I fancy.

Need to go and sort out the ironing pile as I think |I have finally selected some table cloths to go to the antique shop. Even if I take down 4 that will take some off my pile.

Just spoken to DS. See him on Monday in his Edinburgh festival play - yippeesport-smiley-001.gif. Apparently quite a lot of the others' familes are going on the first day so hopefully they won't have an audience of 2 (me and DD). Typical audience numbers for 'unknown' - no, make that yet-to-be-discovered-shows are quite low smile.gif
    Have a lovely day all

I have only watched the first bit of the olympic ceremony as DS kept pestering to go on playstation, but have taped the rest so I will see it later, but agree what I've seen so far was spectacular - I'm not worried I think Mayor Boris will have it all under control for ours:eek: :rotfl:

Hi All, back from our break staying at Plymouth Hoe, OH and I had a great time, visited Looe and Polperro what beautiful places they are. We were very lucky with the weather, had sunshine wherever we went.

Chilli out of the freezer, rice cooked, garlic bread in oven, unpacked and put away, DH has put 1st load in WM, so nearly back to normal.

I haven't been here since last Thursday a.m. so I'm not up to scratch with what's been going on. I have read today's thread and would like to say

TAPLADY, Sorry to hear the hosp app was a waste of time, they don't realise the stress involved.

thats very true! I have been psyching myself up for this appointment all for nothing!and there's the expense it cost me - petrol for a 34 mile journey and £2.50 to park!

Am glad you enjoyed your holiday!:T
