Hilarious!!! And a bit scary! The 50's wife looked the happiest and the 30's one looked much older than her years.
DH is about to give me a lift to Lidl later and then we want to sort out some food cupboards later so stuff is in order and I know what is there and it gets used up. With the house up for sale everything just got shoved out of sight.
Had a low carb breakfast and still waiting for the weight to drop off magically!
Need to stock up on fruit and veg especially as youngest DD wants to go vegetarian for a while. Funny how once they are older and have to do the shopping and preps for themselves they seem less keen on the idea."This site is addictive!"

Dilema about my car insurance, got a good quote from current M&S - but Sheila's wheels are doing £75 cashback on Quidco - which makes it cheaper, but the cover is good, but not as good as M&S, so dont know what to do now??and M&S wouldnt give a better offer! decisions, decisions!!
Troo - I love the 1950's look! but I think that is more american 1950's - I doubt the english 50's had that much money to be so bright then!

I am so sorry but I have just skimmed everything
So glad that Dave is getting better, Silvercharming, and scrambled eggs sound just the thing. Still praying for a good recovery.
I can't wait to hear about the wedding, Mioliere, I am sure it will all go well. There is something about a wedding.
Hugs to everyone else - I am still getting to know the names.
Evil cat is sulking because I have not yet let her out, but until our old cat passed away she never went out at all. The old cat was much more of an adventurous spirit and didn't understand the concept of lorries or that they may not run away if she glared at them, so both cats were kept in. Evil cat is more likely to stay in our small patch of garden and try and eat anything I haven't killed by my so-called 'gardening' so it is safe to let her wander.
My lady bits are not playing nicely today, so I foresee an afternoon of knitting, if little bear co-operates. He is not asleep, but needs to be. Sigh. I suspect a busy afternoon. On the other hand, even if he is tired he doesn't get grumpy, and I can still have lots of cuddles and giggles with him.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Afternoon everyone,
Just eaten a sandwich and i`ve a couple more quick jobs to do and then our visitors should be here.
My friend is bringing a doggie that she is looking after whilst her humans are on holiday and we are all going to go for a nice walk across the fields and see if there is anything worth picking, i hope that there are some blackberries but not really expecting any as the ones nearer to home are still all green but we should have a nice afternoon if the rain keeps off.
The sun peeped it`s head through the clouds earlier but now it`s all dark again so fingers crossed for more sun, little old doggie is snoring his head off on his bed and the big mad puppy dog keeps having mad half hours but they haven`t been for a walk yet, they are used to a walk in the morning but i didn`t take them as the oldie probably wouldn`t manage another walk until later tonight if i had.
Loved the article Troo, made me smile:D
Catch up later peeps, enjoy your afternoons.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Hi everyone,
I've just had a sandwich too.DH left his packed lunch in the fridge, went in to get the butter for mine and saw the box, well waste not want not....he's working on the other side of town so he won't come back for it.
Just checked the washing I put out,its nearly dry,so I'll put some more out,all bedding and towels- I've not been able to peg out for ages ,but its not rained today (YET)
DS has gone to Germany for a few days this morning,so it'll be quiet.Been sorting our outfits for the wedding we're going to tomorrow (lot of them about at the mo!) and getting a route to church off multimap. Looking forward to getting glammed up for a change.Won't look like the ladies in your post though TROO.Thanks for that, might watch that prog later.
Hope all the poorly people feel better soon xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Taplady - Good luck today with your appointment, hope it all goes smoothly.
Mioliere - Have a truly wonderful day!!
jannyannie - Thanks, and hi! Jealous you're in Kent for the folk festival! Mind you, it's a bit crazy up in Edinburgh with the festival on there, too! Isn't it great having so many free things to see?
anniebooklover - Thankyou!~Be true to your work, your word, and your friend~0 -
Afternoon everyone - so late again, wish I could get here earlier!
Silvercharming - Glad to hear Dave is home with you.
Mioliere - (who will be at the wedding by now) Hope you had a fabulous day!
Dogrose - I am with you there, I left my 'high powered' (think 18 hr days and no life) career 14 years ago to downsize and work for myself. I NEVER regretted it, even though my income more than halved.
Pennypincher and Reverie - I am so sorry to hear you have had such a bad week but I hope it all starts to get better from here.
wannabeesybil - I am wondering if your cat is somehow related to mine! Mine also sits on the desk, moving the mouse out of the way. I say sits - she insists we pull out the draws in the filing cabinet so she can use it as steps now she is too old to jump and she won't sit unless there is a towel there for her to curl up on. I try and keep her in the corner but her fave sleeping position is to lie full out with her head on the end of my keyboard so that at odd moments during my time online a whole row of +++++++++++++++++++ appear as she presses her head down too hard! This morning she hassled for more food, so I fed her and she promptly climbed onto the desk, sat for 10 mins and then threw up right next to me!!!
*laughs* Well.. as for me, my day has been quiet so far and I am planning on some gardening today if the showers hold off. Depends on my OH to a degree - he has a second job as a DJ Thurs/Fri/Sat and so is up til gone 0300 and back up for his day job at 0700 so this afternoon he may just want to sleep!
*Hugs* to all who need them today.
Have a great day

Well - have been to collect the cat now and he's being sooooooooooo grateful........lying upside down half across the keyboard pushing his head on my arm. Hope he soon gets back to his usual indifferent self as all this love is exhausting!!!

Sorry Squiggly, didn't mean to falsely push you into pottering in the garden!
silvercharming - you did make me laugh, took a while to work out what cukes were and why you were telling us the size of yours, lol! Glad Dave is doing ok and keeping his food down.
Well have pottered about the house and read the remoska thread whilst doing so, decided on a big one and can't have it till after 15th if I order online, so going to try to get to Taunton and go into the shop tomorrow to see if they have any, now I've decided to get one I want it NOW!
Sun's made an appearance, think I'll take dd3 down to play on the pirate ship at the garden centre in a bit, want to find a couple of clematises as well, didn't have any in b&q yesterday, well they did but they were the spring flowering ones with tiny white flowers, I want the fast growing montanas to cover the fence where ds hacked out another shrub he didn't like!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Afternoon all.
Mioliere Have a fantastic day.
Silvercharming Hope Dave continues to make progress; don't forget to look after you while you're looking after him, will you?
Nelski Please give the greyhound a (((hug))) from me. I hate to think of animals being ill-used, but at least he's loved now, and can hopefully put his rotten past behind him.
PennyPincher Hope the leg is lots better now.
((((Hug)))) to all the other folks who're hurting, sad, unwell or worried.
Mr LW is on early shift today, so he's working from home. He'll finish at 15:30 then we have to go into town for him to get a haircut - if his hair gets any longer, I'll be able to tie a ribbon in it!
Next door neighbour has been hammering and banging for hours; it really is enough to drive you to drink! I wish he'd take a time out to do something with his back garden - the weeds are now higher than the six foot fence, and I fear a recurrence of the invasion of rats we had a few months back.
I've had to resort to wearing my wrist splints today - it's a long time since my hands were this bad, but hopefully it won't last long. Mr LW volunteered to do egg'n'chips for our lunch, so that helped a lot.:T
Not a lot else happening here, so have a good day everyone. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
