Iv been using it for about 2 months now. Iv written 30 reviews during the 2 months. All my reviews are over the 150 word count. My reviews have all got good ratings, Iv never had a not useful rating.
Iv earned just over 20000 miles. I tried to redeem 10000 of them and received an email saying my Amazon voucher was on its way. I waited 2 weeks and never received it so I emailed Dooyoo to let them know and got an email back saying Im not allowed the voucher because my reviews are good enough! They pointed out my first review was only just over 150 words. It still has all the details and opinions required for a review. Its not bad enough for them to lock it though.
I feel abit cheated after earning over 20000 miles yet I cant redeem 10000!
Plus it still says 10000 miles cashed in on my account page
Just recently I had a run in with a guide, and now the another guide is revenge rating. Dooyoo won't do anything about it, because obviously my face doesn't fit.
I've seen much worse reviews than yours, so how they select who to deny points to and who gets away with it is anyones guess.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
The thing is with Dooyoo, there are some rules for one and not others.

I'd remind folks that ratings may vary naturally and episodes of "revenge" rating may be nothing more than just a person's honestly held belief. However, I've normally found dooyoo to be very fair and it worries me slightly if there is a perception that there's one rule for them and one for us, so to speak. It also worries me if it's perceived that guides are not behaving appropriately.
Of course, we're all human and, guide or not, every dooyoo member is entitled to their opinion and to hold an opinion that might not accord with everyone elses'. Hence my use of the word "perception". I don't think anyone, other than the parties concerned can really say whether or not a rate is revengeful or not.... it's hard!0 -
I know what you mean Cmh, and there are other people who have rated this particular review U or SU, and that doesn't bother me in the slightest. But the guide in question rated it U a couple of minutes after I'd rated his a U. Despite the fact he had to deliberately log into my account to read it (it wasn't on the list of latest reviews). After logging onto my account he would have noticed there was a review from his own category that he hadn't rated, but he chose not to look at that one, and instead rated the first review and left a sarcastic comment to go with it.
There's no way you could interpret it any other way than revenge rating. As I've said on my 'About Me' spiel I find revenge rating childish at best, but when others see a guide doing it, it vindicates their actions and can only damage Dooyoo further.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
But, only you see it as a revenge rate... no-one else knows the particular circumstances of this one rating (which might sound suspicious, but can still be a perfectly honest rating). All people will see is a person (guide) giving out a rating. They don't know that you'd rated one of theirs and gotten a (very quick) return rate.
I assume you've mentioned this to Dooyoo because of your "face doesn't fit" comment. If Dooyoo haven't acted on your reports, it's more likely that they disagree with your assumptions or there's not enough solid fact to support your claims.
Without saying "I told you so", this is a problem with the advice given out to read back to those that rate you. If everyone read the stuff they're interested in, then this kind of thing would be easier to spot, though not every less-than-VU rate is a revenge rate.
Also, please don't think I'm automatically siding with the guides because I'm an ex-guide. The guides are a group of individuals and I reckon I probably disagree with at least half of them on all sorts of matters - how they rate, how they comment, their criteria for a good review etc. Also, they're not perfect... they are just human. Only I am the perfect Dooyoo member, anyone else that claims othewise is telling fibs.:A0 -
I think that if anyone thinks they've been revenge rated the best thing to do is contact dooyoo and report it.0

I think if anyone thinks they have been revenge rated it doesn't matter and we should just get on with it!0

I have reported it, but haven't received a reply.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

I kind of agree, Brooke. I think people should be pro-active around the site, letting Dooyoo know if they see anything wrong. By "wrong" I mean misplaced articles, site bugs or categories that look out of place (e.g. there are a lot of 'waffly' categories that should be in Speaker's Corner rather than a consumer category). When it comes to "abuse" though, I think you should only email Dooyoo if there is clear evidence of wrong doing, no matter how obvious you may think it is. Without hard facts, there's really not that much that Dooyoo can do. If anyone is concerned, they could ask a guide for a second opinion, but it's my own opinion that 99% of the time, it's impossible to say for certain if a lower rating is revenge or not.0 -

Exactly, reporting abuse is good. Being pro-active is great but I reckon most of the time a revenge rate isn't even a revenge rate and reporting such things to dooyoo are largely pointless as they are subjective.0 -
So what's the point of reporting it then? If there's no chance of Dooyoo doing anything, why waste time and effort reporting it!
As I said to others, it's unfortunate that beggars can't be choosers.
Edit:
Actually sod it, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I'm just gonna rate VU for everything, then at least I know all rates I get that are less than VU are genuine. I know that's not what Dooyoo is about, but if they do nothing, then it's the only course of action left.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0
