Would be interested to hear if it is at Oldham today, and what the stock level is like - it's within driving distance for me.0 -

Some friends of mine successfully managed to get TV Licensing to leave them alone, on the premise that they only used their TV to watch DVDs.

If you use a TV or any other device to receive or record TV programmes (for example, a VCR, set-top box, DVD recorder or PC with a broadcast card) - you need a TV Licence. You are required by law to have one. "

True; however, for many it may be vastly easier to just pay cash and inadvertently enter a wrong address on any form the cashier may give to help avoid the need to through the process of proving that your monitor does not accept TV signals, at least insofar as any retailer informants may pass your details on to Big Licensing Brother.0 -
Most stores are getting 100 units each (at least in the SW region) - some are getting more.0

Do they sell them at a loss? Why else would they be rationed?0

There's no law prohibiting a *customer* from using a false name and address on the TVL form. So, making up a name and address for a form that doesn't legally have to be filled in anyway (AV gear with no TV tuner) is double-ly legal!0 -
Just found this on a web site.... http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers?DVDname=Targa+DP-5100x&Submit=Search&Search=Search&dvdportable=&dvdchanger=&dvdtv=&chipset=&country=&orderby=Name&hits=25
It might be cheap, but does it do the job...
This indicates issues with the latest firmware "well i upgraded this player to UK BE firmware from targas website, all was great but grew more & more glitchy (including crashing the player, needing to totally turn it off to get it to operate again)
ive checked for a new firmware but nothing more recent, & its got to the point that most dvds both original & back up & divx/xvids now just glitch constantly or give a disc error...
gonna have to return it. trying to find a dvd player that just does what it says on the box is harder than i thought. :-( "

OK Guys Try This;
Go to this site http://www.targa.gmxhome.de/frieschalten_des_regionalcodes.htm
Download the file kpjct19_1.dvd to your Desktop.Make SURE this file is named EXACTLY this way if not rename it. Now create another folder on your desktop called
RMTM0000 inside this folder create another folder called SCARLET . Now copy the
kpjct19_1.dvd file from your desktop and paste it into the SCARLET Folder.
Now burn the RMTM0000 folder to a CD.
After this is finished place the CD into your Targa Player and close the door. You will get a screen telling you the unit is on region 2 select 0-6 to change. Select 0 and press pause button to save.1st son born 11/02/05 2nd son born 09/01/08

As this player has a flash card reader, could I save the file to a memory card instead of burning to CD?0
