Update the region code great - it now plays dvd's we bought in the states. However - divx - I popped in a disk with 2 episodes of band of brothers one will play without sound , the other is fine.

  • Got mine this morning (Dalkeith). Only about a dozen people waiting. Trying all formats now, see how I get on.
Humans only use around forty percent of their brains capacity. Imagine what we could achieve if we used the other seventy percent!

  • sigh, once again bad luck (as usual) beats me!

Southport at 8:40am - the person who arrived just infront of me grabbed the last one. Straight over to Preston, what happens?

...The person arriving just before me grabs the last two, refusing to let me have one.

    Sigh.

Although I am told that they definately will be getting them in again, and to keep an eye on the magazine. Really wanted one of these, now I'll just have to wait till after christmas!

  • Got to Farnham at 7:55 for the 8:00 opening. The doors were already open, and a guy had just grabbed the last two from the pallet. There were other hopeful people there too.

Raced to Blackwater, but they had already put something else in the space where they had been stacked.

I expected them to be popular, but not this popular!

  • I got one this morning from Cardiff Maindy Road about 9am. There were still plenty left in stock there then. I've updated the firmware to the latest from the Targa web site and made it region free. It's working very well. I've tried a Region 1 DVD and some DivX/XviD disks and they've all played. It supports subtitles as well (I think .srt subtitle files are the filetype i've tried).
  • Just checked both of the players and they work brilliantly. Gf's flatmate found the region free hack and I've applied it to one of the players. Works flawlessly. Won't play .ogm files, but I never expected it to. All in all I'm really chuffed.
