  • Went to the only LIDL in town at 8:50 on the first day of offers and they were sold out ! They had 180 for sale. One has to be quick to beat Lidl's usual clientele
  • HI just looked in new LIDL leaflet and they are having the dvd player with card reader for £19.99 on SATURDAY 12TH NOVEMBER.We bought one when it was £44.99 and it is a brilliant machine. Not sure if it is just scottish stores.Plays

    CARD READER PLAYS

    CF,MD,SM,MMC,SD,MS,MS-PRO.

hope it is of help to someone.

    Hi,

Tried to buy one of these this morning from my local store. Got to the store for 9am, little did I realise the store opened at 8am, regardless to say there were two empty crates where the DVD Players with Memory Card Readers were placed, sold out within 1-hour.

What I did find frustrating however was the fact that there were customers walking around the store with 1+ of these, one person had four in their trolley :-(.

Spoke to one of the members of staff and she said that if a customer wanted to buy the entire two crates worth of DVD Players they were well within their rights to do so :-(.

Surely if Lidl imposed a limit of let's say 1 or 2 per customer for offers like this that are bound to fly out of the door (literally did, like I say within 1-hour) there would be many many happy customers who have got themselves a bargain rather than a handfull of customers that have literally bought job-lots of the DVD Players?.
Explained this however the staff member really did not want to know. Was not the only person complaining either.

First come first served I think applies here which is a shame as I was keen to buy one of these :-(.

Anyone else on this forum managed to buy one of these?, are they any good, are there any stores that still have these for sale?.

No doubt a vast percentage of the ones that were sold this morning will appear in the Sunday market tomorrow and possibly on auction sites :-(.

    Quite disappointed :-(.

    Best Regards.

    Hi Seth,

You're thinking down exactly the same lines as I was whilst posting my reply minutes ago, i.e. lots of these are being/shortly going to be on sale on eBay.

Whoever's selling these on eBay will no doubt make a nice profit particularly as the DVD Players were selling for £59.99 last year according to the flyer that we'd picked up :-(.

Just done a quick search for this DVD Player on eBay. Surely this is a reason why Lidl should limit quantities of special offers like this one to 1 or 2 per customer?. (eBay listing No. 5827039808, starting bid £50.00). This is hardly fair profiteering like this?. Neither does it make customers who otherwise are loyal to a store happy. Might be wrong but imho it was blatently obvious why such a large quantity of these DVD Players was sold within 1-hour this morning, to be re-sold.

    Best Regards.

HLK, the iso file is essentially like a zip file, it has the folder structure inside it. You don't write the actual .iso file to the cd, you have to write the ISO contents to cd. It's a bit hard to explain. In Nero there's an option in the 'Recorder' menu which is 'Burn Image'. This writes the contents of the .iso file to the cd, not the actual .iso file (if you were to open the .iso file in WinRAR you would see the folder structure). So I guess you need to find a similar option in Sonic (sorry I've never used that software).

Cheers mikeyv - I just downloaded a new copy of sonic and the 'burn image' option appeared .. all sorted now. Thanks again. Just got to update the others I bought for Xmas pressies so they work out of the box on the 25th!

As you can see from the post above .. the store in Pollockshaws in glasgow had a full pallet at 10:30. I think the demand is varies from store to store.

  • For anybody who needs to burn the ISO files and can't find the option on their burning software there a free tool to do this and its very good ..... http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

Once installed load it up and on the "New Compilation" panel that appears choose the top option to Burn a data CD\DVD etc. Then once loaded go to File-> Write Disk from ISO file. Then on the window that appears select the file by clicking on the button with three dots ... on it.

Slapps - I hear what you are saying - however if I thought I could have a lie in until 11 o clock on a Saturday morning, because lots of polite people would have left stock for me rather than getting up at 7, then I would have done it. I actually bought 2 for me and 2 for someone else who doesn't have a car to get down there for 8am. Over 11000 people have read this thread over the last week .. so demand was always going to be high. The store I visited also did not have a lonq queue.. I stood in the freezing rain from 7:30 onwards in case it materialized.. it didn't so I bought 4. I won't lose any sleep over this - other than the couple of hours this morning! On a side note I noticed that there were plenty listed on ebay 2 days ago, before these went on sale!

There was a whole pallet left at 10:30 .. ;)

i understand want you are saying and you brought yours for you and your friend, but i'm talking about the people that post 3 days auctions on ebay and then go out to the shop @ 7:30 to clear the store out just to make a profit. i know this will never change as so many think of themselves and not of others. pretty sad world we live in a?
