Almost everyone at the tills had at least one (and a pint of milk) but the store isn't that busy yet.
Good luck everyone!!0 -
Has anyone else noticed that the time is wrong on the posts?
My last one was at 10.32 but showed 11.32!
Some one didn't turn the clocks back a few sundasy ago : )0 -
YOu will find that this new player plays a lot of recent XVID (and maybe Divx too) files erratically. At first glance, it looks alright. However, at closer inspection, you will find that pictures dont scroll smoothly. The mouths dont sync properly with speech.
YOu need this upgrade. Just use your favourite cd burner and burin the iso file as an image and follow the readme file.
http://www.service.targa.co.uk/dokumente/Firmware_dp5100x_UK_BE.zip
Instructions for firmware update
1. Write the disc-image (Firmware_xx.iso) to a CD. Please take a look to the help of your burn software how to do this. Just writing the file to CD is not right!
2. The folder structure on the created disc shoud be /lg_dvd/firmware/upgrade/lg.
3. Put the CD into the dvd-player.
4. The TV displays a message while reading the firmware.
5. The tray opens automatically.
6. Remove the CD from the drive.
7. Press the "Arrow Up" button on the remote control.
8. The tray of the device closes automatically and the update starts.
ATTENTION: Don´t cancel the update progress!!
9. The device restarts automatically after approximately two minutes.
10. The backgound is displayed.
11. Now you have to do a factory reset:
12. Press the "Setup" Key on the remote control.
13. Select "Display" from the menu.
14. In the Menu "TV Aspect", select 16:9 as picture format and highlight it.
15. Enter the code " 1 3 9 7 1 3 9" and press "Enter"
Hint:
The code must be entered quickly without any pause. If the blue screen mentioned at step 16 is not displayed, please enter the code again.
To enter the code again, go to step 14 and do it again.
16. A blue screen is displayed where you can see the new version.
17. Press "Enter" to exit the page.
18. Turn off the device.
19. Turn on the device. The update is finished.
Everything I have tested played perfectly after the upgrade.0 -
got to shop at just before 9, expecting to see a queue, but none... as this week they started to open at 8!!
about 20 black ones left, so I got one was told silver ones when straightaway mainly in bulkAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I downloaded the zip file from the Targa site, extracted it, and burnt the iso image using Nero with the Recorder->Burn Image menu. I had to create a folder structure for the Region Code hack. I had downloaded a file called kpjc19_1.dvd, and had to create 2 folders (one inside the other), put that file in there and burn it to a cd.0

Hi, thanks for info, I was Ok with the regionhack.. but when I burnt the firmware (using sonic) I didn't end up with the folder structure as detailed in the post by machofairy i.e do I need to create this structure on the desktop lg_dvd/firmware/upgrade/lg. and then paste the .iso file into it and then burn ?HLK

Sold out 120 units in under 1/2 hour this morning. Nothing but an empty pallet to look at by 8.30!!! Oh well, it'll give the staff a story to dine out on for months ... :rolleyes:0

HLK, the iso file is essentially like a zip file, it has the folder structure inside it. You don't write the actual .iso file to the cd, you have to write the ISO contents to cd. It's a bit hard to explain. In Nero there's an option in the 'Recorder' menu which is 'Burn Image'. This writes the contents of the .iso file to the cd, not the actual .iso file (if you were to open the .iso file in WinRAR you would see the folder structure). So I guess you need to find a similar option in Sonic (sorry I've never used that software).0
