Stardrops - they are lovely, you have got the ears nice and big and rounded. The socks I use never have a wide enough piece to get bigger ears and getting them so rounded is very tough!

Angie the socks I use are just ladies ankle socks 4-7. I have found that you really need to stuff the ears in order to get them nice and round no matter what size piece you have, then once you have done the running stitch all the way round the ear they look nice and round:D

Here is a pic that might help you see it better

  • hi, i've a question about stuffing, I hope somebody can advise me!
I've had an offer of old pillows to use - but I think I read that this doesn't work/isn't very easy to use. And also 'a bag that says polyester wadding for use in quilts pillows cushions and upholstery, flame retardant washable non-allergenic' - would this be any good (possibly the same as old pillows?)

    thanks!

    Hi Emily

I have used old cusions to stuff them and I've just bought a pillow from the pound shop to use to stuff and it's just as nice as the proper bag of stuffing I bought that was 3 times the price:mad: I don't think the wadding from duvets is very good as I think it would have a tendancy to go lumpy but I've haven't tried it myself. Hope that helps:D

Thanks! I think I'll take the bag of wadding, I may as well try it! If it's wadding that can be used to fill cushions, isn't that the same thing as using old cushions?

and i just found these: might inspire someone to recreate them! http://www.retrotogo.com/2006/11/sid_and_nancy_p.html (it's a very cool website)
