Krystaltips they are lovely - i especially love the cat - did you do it the same as the monkey without the mouth piece and then shape the ears??? I must have a go at that-looks fab!

I bought a cushion in Ikea yesterday reduced to 69c - it's an IRMA 35x35cm, and I thought if the offer is universal it might be cheaper than buying a bag of actual stuffing.
Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
    Three gifts left to buy
  • Yes it's not too different to the monkeys, the head is supposed to be stuffed so it's round and the tail is slightly shorter...

They're both out of the book... Got a zebra one to try next!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Happy to, can send you photos of current ones too. PM me if interested.

Good luck to those that are starting to make them, persevere because it takes a while to get them looking neat. There is a big difference in sock quality too (my favourites are Clarks). Isn't it sad when you're an expert in sock stretch and crutch stuffing and sewing?!!!

Postage is £1.75 though making them 22.5p each!!! I think ebay is cheaper, I got for 4.9p each. Nice website though, I guess if you are placing a big order it might be worth it.
  • If you're anywhere near the midlands, there is a bead shop in Lichfield that does them and quite a few others too... Not sure how much they are each though... Will find out soon hopefully!

  • Hello, I am so impressed with the wonderful toys you have all been making!
I make soft toys and dolls and thought I'd share some info I have obtained over the years as it may help someone else.
I found out from trading standards that I needed the ce mark to sell my toys at craft fairs and in shops. It cost alot to get tested but sometimes your local council can do it for you for free if you ask.
If you sell them you must tell people they are not for babies if you put buttons/ charms on them as they can be chewed on.
It is best also to have public / product liability insurance if you do sell them to cover yourself.
Don't forget to tell the tax man if you make craft items to sell, I did'nt at first but then did and had it backdated. I dont earn enough to pay tax but it is included as income for tax credits.
Keep all details of materials used and only use BS standard toy filling. Incase there is a problem in the future.

I hope this is useful info, keep on creating!
