How is the stripey one going Angie?
This is the second one i've made with this patterned sock and I quite like it. Going to make a rainbow stripey one for my friends little boy's birthday next month. They live in Germany so I am going to put him in a box surrounded by coloured tissue and send him over:D
I've had 3 orders already for them - including a custom rastafarian one !!! That should be fun. Bit nervous about making them for other people though:o

Wow Shelley, u are already taking orders,u are doing very well! I am doing the arms on the stripey one. The sock is not so stretchy so the snout is gonna be small I think!!!! My mum made a scarf for the camoflage monkey and I just attached a 'Made With Love' heart on it!!

Angie that sounds lovely. Post a pic when you've got chance.
To be honest I wasn't going to take orders I was just making them for myself but two of my friends seen them and they want them now. Really nervous though in case my stitching falls apart. So i am going to try my best to sew them tight!!!
Been searching all night for new types of socks to use for the next batch:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Love the spotty one shelley....How do you get such a lovely shaped level mouth ..??
as i find the ears take the most time to stitch one i have made one today by making a slight slit on either side and sewing them in when i was sewing the legs. then this way they're easier to position level and you can stuff them when stuffing the body..
i have just made a baby from one gents white ribbed sock. its taken literally 15 minutes. now have to decide the best way to do the face ...thought i'd give it hair and dress it..

Thanks - the mouth has been a nightmare to get right but i've found it better to use the toe of the sock as the mouth and not the heel. In the process now of making hats out of socks with pom poms to put on their heads. With the ears I pinch them together and then sew them on xx;)

I make these and give them as gifts and sell them at craft fairs, if anyone can give me some advice on how to upload photos I will. I love making them but it's taken me a while to perfect my technique lol!

I totally love your monkeys.... :D

Do you happen to have these for sale anywhere? I'd really like one...

    Thanks!
