can anyone offer ant advice on how NOT to get lumpy arms and tail when stuffing? Mine is not going in too smoothly.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0

thanks hellsbells.
poppett - depends on the stuffing. i was using one that i had to pull apart into little bits and then stuff carefully. but i find it easier to stop the lumpyness if you put more in rather than less!!!!0 -

I'm in the process of making my first one and had the same problem.
I sorted it by pulling off small bits of stuffing and pushing more in to bulk it out and make it more solid.0 -

Wow! What a brilliant tip.
Now all I need is a thin tube. I have just thrown a tube from some sandwich bags in the bin but that would have been too wide for my monkey as I am using kids ankle socks.
It would have been fine though for larger ones.0 -
how much stuffing does everyone use per monkey?
i wanna have a go at making some for my kids x0 -

Fantastic advice Sharon, thanks. I will be using that one on my next monkey. Mine turned out a little lumpy last night but she's been claimed by my 13 year old daughter so can't be that bad!£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -

I use ladies socks and they take over 200gsm of stuffing. I do stuff firmly though. I think a lot of people don't use as much, or make smaller monkeys.0 -

It definitely depends on the stuffing. I have used Wilkinsons pillows which are quite good. I then needed bigger quantities so moved onto buying 1kg bags from ebay; My first bag was lovely, and it stuffed well.
I found a different seller that was selling 2kg bags (Grade A carded fibre with a high loft) for a good price.... but now I am using it I am regretting buying it as is stuffs really firm, and goes lumpy. I now have to spend much longer "smoothing" out my monkeys. I won't be buying it again.
Plus my world fell apart last week as I have lost my "stuffing stick":(:(:( NOT HAPPY
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0
