I have used that, but found that it unravelled it self if the monkey was played with.

Think the problem is the ends. If you cut them short they come undone. If you leave them longer, they can be quite sharp.

My mum used to use this for clothes and always popped a bit superglue on the end to stop it coming undone!!

I made my first monkey last night, all hand sewed which i seriously need to practice but i love him will try and learn how to upload a photo

Hoping to get money smart enough to avoid working full time and paying extortionate money to a stranger for the privilege of enjoying my two beautiful children for 40+hrs a week until my son is 3 and my daughter starts school in 2012 :D

  • Ahh Susie that's a lovely idea, my plan was to make one each for my kids for xmas, with this one as a trial, but my daughter has adopted this one now, I think I'm going to have to triple sew all the limbs etc though as they're pretty rough with toys etc, I need to have a look at safety eyes as well as my 1 year old puts everything in his mouth.

When I have finished sewing the limbs on or whatever, I double french know it so that I know it will stay in place, and then thread the needle through the monkey and out the other side so theres plenty of thread on the inside of the monkey if that makes sense! :)

Right then, where is my thread and needle.

I have to bite the bullet and have a go, I hate sewing but want to create a little sock monkey!

i hope i make it look so easy once i have done a few :-)

sb44 give it a go they are actuallt not as hard as they look, just sewing the things in place takes a bit patience but so worth it :j
