Well I've cracked on and he's nearly there. The eyes are wonky and I cant get them where I want them, considering cheating and using a bit of glue! He still needs a hat and scarf and his mouth embroidered. But we are coming along ok. Im not happy with his face needs a bit of adjusting! Cant believe I still have 9 more to do... I must be mad!

Hi everyone. Quick question when you use knee high socks do you still use the sock heel as his bum and just have long legs? Just about to start my 2nd monkey.0
-
i usually cut the legs down so they are still a normal size but yes still use heel as the bum.0
-
I make one monkey out of 1 knee length sock. I cut his legs the normal length (he doesn't have the cuff for his feet, but it doesn't matter). The heel is the bum as normal. The rest of the leg is then used to cut the arms and his ears. I use a toe or heel from a matching (or contrasting) plain sock for his mouth. The rest of the plain sock is used to make two monkey hats. So they actually work out quite economical as you get two monkeys for one pair plus a plain pair.0

I like to look around and see what other monkeys people are making as there are so many these days, and everyone has their own interpretation of them. There are quite a few on face book and came across one girl who sells hers on a monthly basis. This time she has 200 for sale. Wow - all made in 1 month. I just don't know how she manages it. I have got mine down to about 1.5 hours from start to finish so just imagine how long that would take to make 200. They aren't all monkies, there will be cats and owls etc.which don't take quite as long, but even so that is some going.0

200 in 1 month!!!! it takes me an evening to make one but at the moment i am doing clothes for them so its taking me AT LEAST 2 evenings to make 1.0

I can't understand how anyone can make that many on their own. If they had help, they would have to pay them and you don't make enough to be able to do that, so I don't know. They are being listed on Ebay tonight, so it will be interesting to see how many. There is a large fan base and she sells everything she makes - so good luck to her, but it must take some mighty effort.0
