I like the monkeys with hair they look so cute Meggielo :T
My poor work colleague is due to retire soon and on her way into work this week she fell down a flight of stairs in the train station and broke her finger. She is such a trooper she didn't know she had broken her finger and turned up for work and did a whole 9 hr shift of constant typing without a single moan. She is such a lovely lady so I thought I would surprise her and made Elsie tonight complete with a bandaged finger and OUCH on it. I hope she likes it

Shelley that sock monkey is gorgeous!
I cannot wait to get started now! Made my list of things to get tomorrow:
Ankle socks x5 (to make hat/scarves with)
Knee length socks various stripy x10
Craft Glue
Sewing kit (although might get a handheld sewing machine If I see one on my travels)
Eyes - I'm thinking of doing buttons now, so 10x large white, 10x smaller black
Pack of felt
Cello ribbon in gold (to tie them when packaged in cello)
Embroidery thread in black for the mouths
Ribbon or shoelaces (going to make little satchels/bags for them)
2 cheap pillows for stuffing - poundland
I already have: scissors, cello wrap, various wool, knitting needles, made with love charms.
Can't think of anything else I might need. As Im disabled its far easier for me to get everything in one go, so the more I can get tomorrow the better. Town is starting to get busier now.
Any ideas where I can find a cheap handheld sewing machine... buoyes?
know they have them on Ebay but would be much easier to have one tomorrow so I can get started. Have ten monkeys to do by 24th December and 4 uni essays to do... eek. :O
Cannot wait though, finished that scarf today so rather excited! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

I've just found this thread and am in awe, I love them so, so much- is there any chance of someone with minimal sewing skills (GCSE textiles about 15 years ago) and no machine etc mastering them, I'd LOVE to make them for my kids and family for Christmas.Hoping to get money smart enough to avoid working full time and paying extortionate money to a stranger for the privilege of enjoying my two beautiful children for 40+hrs a week until my son is 3 and my daughter starts school in 20120

When i first started making mine, i had no machine so they were all stitched by hand, with very little sewing knowledge! You soon get the hang of it after that first attempt.x
