Hiya all Babyfreckles you have been busy giving that new machine a bashing lol!

I am starting to feel the pressure now and really wished I had stockpiled my monkeys through the year and then listed them for sale!! Christmas is creeping up way too fast and I am panicking I will not get them all done in time :o:o Big mistake getting people to pick their socks in advance as they all seem to like the same ones (which always seem to be in multipacks!!)! I haven't made any monkeys for a week as I have been away and I am back on work tomorrow!!! OOOHHHH PRESSURE!!!!!
Note to myself - next year I will make throughout the year ready for Xmas :)

The problem is that you are so fed up with monkeys after Christmas that you just want to sit and relax. I thought last year that I would stock pile this year and it just didn't happen. - Then there is Valentines and Mothers Day coming up too.
  • How do I find peoples blogs? I love looking at peoples monkeys lol. I've done the body of mine so far, but my son (3 and 1/2) won't leave it alone even tho its not got a face or arms yet! Its great I made him a sock bunny from a pair of my old knee high socks when he was ill, it hardly even looks like a bunny but he loves it and won't sleep without it now whereas he wasn't interested in cuddly toys before including a tiger which cost £25! Ooh and I've just found a box of old earrings that I can use for piercings. Yay!
  • Shelly -

    Mabel looks lovely.

I came onto the thread hoping to gain inspiration to make some sock monkeys for DD2 for Xmas (which I originally hoped to do last year!), but the reality is I know they won't look any good so I wondered if you'd send me your Facebook details please. Thanks.
  • Customer wanted a dog and chose the socks - which I am not sure about, but I am quite pleased with how he came out.

Nuttybabe - watch how you stretch them when you stuff, the little black threads show through the pink quite a bit. I had to poke them about with a needle, but I do stuff quite firm which is probably why.

I was quite pleased with his face - his mouth dips in and his head size is better than the Zebra one I did before.

    Good luck with yours

Lovely stripey doggy gemsmember are they hard to do?

Another trio! Cherry's eye looks squint but it's not like that in real life!

I made him similarly to the cat and took inspiration from some photos of sock dogs I had seen and just winged it really, but quite pleased with the look on the face.

I will try different socks next time.

I like your monkeys - they look evenly stuffed, but I don't think you stuff as firm as I do, so your pattern doesn't stretch too much. When I have tried to do them with less stuffing, I can't seem to get a nice smooth shape.
