pennib - they are brilliant. i really need to get socks like that, they look so nice and bright.

gemsmember - thanks i will remember that when i finally get round to using them (had them for months!!!). oddly i dont stuff the dogs/zebras as much as the monkeys. dont know why. but i like my monkeys cuddly and like you said, i cant get them the right shape unless i stuff them alot.

gemsmember; I try not to get the pattern distorted which can happen if I stuff to much. Some of the socks are a lot more stretchy than others, so that is what determines how much stuffing I use. :0) (My daughter is the best at stuffing and I try to bribe her to do them!)

  • Well I finished my very first sock monkey last night and I'm really pleased with him. My son found him when he came down this morning and his face was lit up. He was dancing and singing with it! And he hasn't put it down since! I'm so chuffed. I can't put a picture up because I'm new I think but as soon as I can I will. Thank you everyone for all the inspiration, I wouldve just looked at them and thought I'd never be able to make that!

Hi all, just realised that I haven't posted any pictures of my recent monkeys. They are techno monkey, soldier monkey and star monkey - just finished another one but not posting his picture as he's for a birthday present. :) Just wish I had more time for all the monkeys I want to make as presents.

Always enjoy seeing everyone's monkeys and congrats to cuddles123 on your lovely new grandson. :D

Sashybo those monkeys are absolutely gorgeous. Did you machine stich around the face or is that hand stitching? Iwould like to do as much machine sewing on the two monkeys I am making as possible as I am not a big lover of hand sewing these days. I got my plastic eyes today ready to put on my monkeys before I stuff them. I also have the arm joints to try out to see if I can make moving limbs or not. Trial and error I think.

Cuddles123 that is one cute little baby, bless him.

Thanks meggielo, :) I hand stitch all my monkeys as don't have access to a machine - takes quite a bit longer, so thinking about getting a machine at some point.

Movable limbs sound quite good, especially for kids - good luck with it. :)
