I love persians we lost our persian 3 yrs ago but have opted for an exotic short hair this time. The boys have named him Elvis lol! He is settling really well although he did just pee on my bathmat :(

I know what you mean about the look it is so funny but they are the sweetest nature of all :)

Thanks for your kind words Nuttybabe.

Your fairy is amazing and given me lots of food for thought as my dd who is 9 this month loves fairy things. She also happens to have loads of felicity wishes dolls that come with wings on velcro:D Her monkey is going to be cerise pink with spots but I'm thinking now of the 'fairy' possibilities. Excellent idea:beer:

shelley - please put a piccy up of him. maybe next to a sock monkey so we are keeping with the thread!!! :P

meggielo - thanks. poundland had pink wings as well if you did need to find some. i was wanting a wand for her but the only ones i found were dark purple so wouldnt look right. I seem to always have a theme for my monkeys. I cant just do 'normal' ones, i have to make it difficult for myself!!! lol

actually while i am here - i am making a nana sock monkey. going to make her knitting (and another one crocheting) but am a bit stuck for her clothes. i was planning on a hat (thats easy enough, got an idea in my head that seems simple) but what about her dress. it was going to be a smock like thing but i think i might need a pattern that i can amend to fit. Does anyone know of any websites that might have a pattern for a nana dress? Has to be simple!! :D

Nuttybabe; Wow you have got some imagination to think up these things! I was just saying to my hubs when we were in a shop there was so many bits and pieces that I couldn't think what to do with, but I said that I bet those on MSE would know!!
Anyway as I await inspiration here are a few more of my sockies!

  • Question to those using safety eyes. Do you do anything to the prong sticking out the back, I am just wondering if you can feel it through from the other side or whether the stuffing cushions it enough?

pennib - they look lovely, yours are always so perfect, mine end up wonky half the time!!! :P i cant claim credit for all my creations my friends do ask for some of them. but i just think its fun finding new things for them to be.

gemsmember - i use safety eyes and not noticed them poking out the other side. i stuff mine quite well though.

i currently have 7 sock monkeys awaiting clothes (2 grannies, 2 elves, football one and 2 santas) and i have 4 waiting to be stuffed. really need to get going on them as i still have about 6 to make for xmas presents.
