Oh you are all so fab! I have done 2 and am quite pleased! Cant post pic cause I am new and it wont let me post links as it thinks I am spamming LOL BUT just to say I am a TOTAL novice at sewing ,and also had to go out to buy needle and thread, so if I can do it ,anyone can LOL!!:rotfl:
I am now working on a sock elf.....hmm maybe a tad ambitious!
I now have 5 more monkeys to do as well...hmm, back to my needle and thread!;)
(oh and please someone explain how to knit hats to me in VERY basic terms! Do Youhave to on circular needles?)

hi, this is the site i use ;)http://www.learn2knit.co.uk/knitting.php

oops, didn't read the post properly! I do 8 thingys (stitches?) across, then do a scarf length, 2 rows pearl, 2 rows normal!! The hat, i do 12 across, the same thing, but enough to do a turn over, then sew the sides so it's a hat - if that makes sense!!

  • Hey loupoppins! Great stuff making your monkeys! I`m working my way through orders at the moment, but enjoy making them!

The hats are so easy to make. You will need a pair of 3.5mm needles.
Ive posted some instructions a few pages back on how I make them.

Others may have some different patterns tho.

  • Here is my pattern

The little hats are easy to make ... for the baby monkeys I cast on between 30 and 40 stitches ( depending on size of monkey head as baby socks seem to differ!) Knit 2 rows then ss 12 rows, next row knit 2 together, next row purl 2 together. Thread remaining stitches onto a needle, draw tightly and stitch up - this pulls the hat into a round shape... hope this helps!
