    Cheap pillows
  • I use toy stuffing from Hobbycraft its nice and gives the monkeys a good shape.
  • Wow! Some fab monkeys! I'm onto number 7 but feeling a little bit pressured now cos I need to do a few for Christmas & they still take me hours!! If only I could work a sewing machine!

Danables, I like the last one of yours the best if I had to choose, but they're all brilliant! What did you use to make the skirt on the middle one? I've got a couple of girly ones to do & the skirt looks better than my hat & scarf..
Victory, I bought my stuffing on ebay in the end, its been fine & not lumpy
  • aw these are so cute! im attempting to make 5 sock doggies this year...starting now.....wish me luck!

I use old cushions. Earlier on this thread, one of the posters was nicking stuffing out of their OH's pillow :rotfl:

Dunelm Mill have bags of stuffing quite reasonable.

I am halfway through a black sock monkey with sort of coloured dots on him. I dont like him. Have stopped production as he really looks sinister - does anyone else have this problem :D

Thanks I think I will give the last one to her. it was the hardest to make as the socks were so stretchy.. - you know when you look at them so much your not sure which ones better anymore!! For the skirt I used my daughters hairbands you can get them from Primark I undid the knots on one hair band and added it to the other to make it fuller. I bought my stuffing form my local habidashery its ok but not as good as the stuff my mother in law gave me and thats proper toy stuffing (not had the chance to use it yet but it dosnt have any prickly bit in like the one iv been using has)
