    Ha Ha. :rotfl::rotfl:
    I go grocery shopping and come home with lots of socks and not much food and if I need a particular sock colour/design I pass the word around relatives and bingo before you know it they will find them

    love the monkeys chatty123 and thanks for your advice with mine. First ever sock monkey finished this evening and here he is (hope the link works!)

    enjoyed making even him though he's not perfect! the nappy is a disguise for a ladder made by over-stuffing him, but seems to work well! and have decided will need to pinch Mum's sewing machine if I'm going to make more for friends/family.

    thanks for the inspiration ladies! :beer:

    Fran-o......he's adorabubble!! Just looks like a baby monkey with his nappy, you wouldn't know why it was there :T:T He's a lovely colour too!!

    I've been more into monsters of late than monkeys, got a couple of monkeys to make for friends but decided on monsters for my Nana and Grandad's birthdays coming up.

    Green and black stripy one is Wlad who is a vampire, and pink one is Pinky the Punk

    Wlad's got a little teal cape in the back which you can't see

    Fran that is so good and the lovely bright colours are great. love the nappy idea.
    I think you should def borrow a sewing machine and make more. I usually sew in batch and then i can sit, stuff and sew in comfort. Once i sit down I can have one completed within the hour. last night I made a spotty one, a star one and a stripe one. ha ha

    looking forward to more pics

    Its nice to see this threads come back. I havent made any monkeys for ages but still whenever Im shopping if I see socks which would make 'good monkeys' I have to buy them! Im hoping to make one for each family member this christmas as moneys going to be tighter than usual due to my first baby being due in November. Love the nappy idea, if I put those on my monkeys I can say their off the baby :rotfl:

    FANTASTIC MONKEYS!!! :)

    they are lovely, do you use google eyes on them and how do you get them to stay. i've tried the safety ones but the socks always ladder from the hole made to poke the plastic post thru and the sticky ones never seem sticky enough to stay in place
