Ok guys ive finally made my first sock monkey currerntly been carried about by my little girl !
but i need your advice how do u sew the face on ? i cheated wtih the arms and easrs did em on sewing machine
But i carnt figure out how to sew the face on without seeing the stitches ? i a hand sewing novice
Ill post a pic later x0 -
Hi Owens
You can do it as I do by sewing a nostril first, just a few stitches, then push the needle through so it comes out at the corner of the mouth. Then you can either do some sort of back stitch for the mouth itself or just pull the thread tight from one side to the other then push back through the opposite corner of the mouth, come back up through to where you want the other nostril to be, do a few stitches for the nostril and thats it! Did you follow all that:D Sorry I'm not that good at explaining;)Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

THankyou for that , how do you sew the snout on ? ive had terrible trouble i was even gonna throw the poor thing across the floor ? lol
what stitch do you use to sew the snout on ? cant seem to make it right can see the stitches0 -
oh and do u use the heal or toe for the snout ?0

Hi Owens
I use the toe for the snout(sorry for my last post, I thought you meant the actual features eg mouth, nostrils:o)the heel is always too small. I always pin it in place before I start sewing(very important;)) I always start from one corner of the snout and use a sort of under and over stitch(sorry don't know the name of the stitch) I stitch all the way round to the middle of the bottom of the snout. This leaves you a small gap to stuff it then finish sewing back to where you started and finish with a couple of back stitches:D Try and tuck the raw edges under as you go and it will look alot neater.Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)
