Sock monkeys!

I love the monkeys! I'd love to have a go, I'm not bad at sewing but it bores me so I think it might take me a while. How long do you think a monkey would take to make if I sewed him by hand and was your 1st one hard to make? I can see myself getting frustrated with it. I might show my Nanna to see if she fancies a go too

Hiya - I did Mabel by hand & seriously I'm rubbish at sewing so if I can do it anyone can and she is my first one - I spent most of the day making her - on and off and it was great cos I could just get on with it whilst watching telly - had loads to catch up on that I'd recorded on my skyplus - think she probably took me about 5hrs in total - the only bit I got a bit frustrated with was the stuffing part - especially the tail and the sewing the ears on but considering I'm THE most impatient person it wasn't that bad at all - its worth a go!!0 -
Oh thankyou!!! I am pleased with her & actually my hubby is really impressed!! and doesn't think I'm mad!! She's not perfect but I'm sure I'll get better - yes I'm gonna make more!! Another sock monkey addict is born! I didn't have matching buttons for her eyes, one arm is actually lower than the other and I didn't include the 'cuff' on her feet but other than that... oh and one of her ears looks dodgy in the photo but it is actually the same as the other one - its just the ways she's sitting - honest - just checked her again!!! Come on other newbies bring on your photos...well done she is really lovely!you have certainly done a fab job for the first time!:T0 -

Has anyone branched out into other types of sock creatures?
I found a fab book " stupid sock creatures" in town -( its on amazon too) and i've had a go at making a couple of weird creatures based on those in the book. Pictures on my blog if you want to look.
