Good luck to the newbies that are going to try out Monkeys for the first time.

They are so fun to make, I am onto my 3rd now and have to say that they are getting better. (I hope)

Well god darn it - I bought some socks today for the express purpose of making sock monkeys!! (and pretty hairband/skirt!) Its gonna get messy as I REALLY cannot sew!! Must admit when I got in the car after purchasing them the first thought was 'now what do I do with them?' LOL!! Will have to print out the instructions and see what else I need - don't even know what sort of thread I should use or anything!! But at least she's got a skirt... LOL!! Fashion is always my first priority!

:rotfl: Don't worry I'm sure it will be great;) It took me ages to do my first monkey with lots of unpicking and swearing:rotfl: but I got there in the end and now I love making them:D but my favourite part is when I dress them up, as you say fashion always takes priority:rotfl:

Well I've got a stuffed body/legs and half stuffed tail & arms - that bits fiddly!!! Keep chuckling to myself cos I can't quite believe I'm making a monkey out of a pair of socks!! LOL!! Plus my hubby phoned up and said 'what are you up to?' to which I replied 'sewing' to which he replied - 'what my jeans?' (he recently wripped his jeans when he went on the trampolene with some friends kids LO!) to which I then replied 'no - a sock monkey!!' - think he fell off his chair...!

Anyway, just having a break - need a brew I think! Might come back to it later or tomorrow cos I think the next bit is gonna be really tricky!

Angelkay - she' so pretty!!

Well I've spent the day making my very first sock monkey and she is now complete!!! I think she's pretty even if her eyes are a bit wonkey LOL!! She's not perfect but then how many of us are!!! Her name is Mabel

Here is a picture of how she started life...


And now here she is in all her glory!!! I love her already!!


Be kind - she's very sensitive!! OMG I think I'm losing the plot LOL!! I have been giggling all day making her though so thats what counts - SOCK MONKEYS BRING HAPPINESS!!!

Lordy - sorry the photos are quite big - haven't got the foggiest how to make them smaller!!!

I arrived home with 2 pairs of fluffy socks today, telling DD they'll make great sock monkeys. She pointed out that I now have 4 pairs of socks that I've said that about, and wants to know when I'll actually make one
