Good morning!
Hope things are looking bit brighter for all those with troubles and problems.
Weather is poop today, and I am in bed, though I did get up to make brekkie and deflea the cats - oh do I know how to have fun! Oh and I watched dd3's new dance and clapped at all the right bits lol! Not bad since I haven't actually slept yet, must fit that in before w**k again tonight!
Need to blitz the hall today, really must get rid of the shoes that don't fit or seem to belong to anyone, I'm sure many kids in the village must be missing shoes though! BM on and need to do some washing again else I shall be wearing very grubby uniform later. dds can hoover for me, and pick up all their bits at the same time.
Might have a friend popping in for lunch, he's doing some work down the road, but his girlfriend has offered to help him and she doesn't much like me or the kids so that'll be fun! Don't think he's mentioned our group camping trip to her yet - not just me and him obviously, but a huge group of us go plus any and all children, oh well, hopefully she'll have come round by then. It can be so difficult when people have new partners, I've tried really hard to be welcoming but I'm fast running out of ideas, now I just invite her to stuff but don't really even expect a reply. Still she makes him happy so that's good.
Think that's pretty much my day, leftover pasta will have bacon added and breadcrumbs sprinkled on top to become todays pasta bake for lunch! No idea about dinner yet, but need to make a bit of space in the fridge, so prob some of the pork that I seem to have been laying in for a siege, why have I got so much!
dd3 has just reminded me that I promised to get her new pe kit today, before they sell out of daps! Also need to order new pe shirts for ds and dd1, they now have ridiculously expensive embroidered shirts as part of their uniform, can only buy from one shop and they will prob be the same quality as the rest of the uniform, rubbish. How can this be right for a state school? Is there no monopoly commission ruling about school uniforms?! Moan moan moan!
Best get up in a bit, quick browse first whilst girls tidy sitting room, then get on with the day, quick snooze this afternoon I think, else I shall be asleep on the floor at w**k!
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Catznine, ouch…. It’s not just a case of regrouting/resealing is it? That turned out to be my problem…

Hello all.
WM on with bedding and now it has decided to rain! Didn't look at the forecast. Ah well never mind. First lot was part dry so I've just hung it about inside and hope not to get visitors. Still - it has a 'lived in' look
.
Been to Mr T - despite my new attempt to try to shop locally, I was too tempted by the posts of lemon curd and treacle for 20p. Sad or what? Anyway, I went and got some and also some tins of things.
Been to library and paid my non-OS fine of 30p, on a book I haven't got round to reading
.
Having a cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch yum yum. HM minestrone soup for tea and will use some chicken stock that's defrosting. Tinned salmon and salad as well, including little salad potatoes I bought from someone's garden. They look delicious so I hope they are!! Remembered to buy Baxters beetroot so DH will be happy.
Have a good day all

Hi all - I'm having a de-stressing coffee; I did look at the gin bottle but decided against it, lol! For now, anyway.
Nelski - now that one is perfect. He could do all the things I'm stressing about and de-stress me as well. I laughed about him doing favours. I keep saying to my DH 'I shall be doing favours tonight' and his eyes keep lighting up until he realises what kind of favours I mean!
Thanks to everyone for their kind words about my wedding week stresses!
Sybil - I haven't welcomed you yet so welcome to you - what a wedding that was for you. Makes this one seem almost normal!
Pam - hope all works out well with those troublesome neighbours.
Beth - have a great time!
RedRuby - good luck to your Dad. (((Hugs))) to him. I am married by the way but we lived in sin together for years, sneaked off to get married and then told everyone after the event!
Sunnyday - I will look out the tea wine recipe but will need to hunt through my recipe books. I promise I won't forget and will post it after the wedding! It's quick, cheap and effective!
Mummysaver - that used to annoy me when mine were still at school. Half the uniform had to come from one shop and, of course, it was so much more expensive. It really shouldn't be allowed, should it? It's something the Government could do something about, I'm sure.
Well, I must have some food now because I'm starving and then I'll have to start working on the list I made this morning; a list always helps, doesn't it? It stops me walking round in circles!
Will call back later.

Hello all,
A wet one today, good thing I haven't done any washing!:p
I don't understand why I'm so tired today - had a fairly reasonable night (for me) but as soon as Mr LW had gone to work, I just sort of collapsed, and that was me out for the count for 2 hours.
I hate that - but it's happening ever more frequently. Oh well, must remember to mention it at next hospital appointment.
We are becoming inundated with tomatoes. I've already frozen one lot, ready to make soup in the colder weather. Think I'll have to freeze some more, if I can work out how to shoe-horn them into the freezer.
Nelski I know what you mean about missing having a dog around the place. I miss my little Penny loads still, and she left me in 2002! It's great to have a canine visitor to stay though.:T
Caterina Happy birthday.
And a (((((Hug))))) for all who want/need one.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
A very busy past couple of days for me!!
Saturday I did some overtime, was up at 730 and worked from 9 til 2, got home changed and then out to a friend's BBQ. Somehow ended up in Camden and didn't get home til 4am. I am far too old for this lark and thus Sunday ended up pretty much a write off. I did eat reduced Pizza Express pizzas and descaled my shower head and kettle
Friends are hearing about my bread maker and now want to borrow it, so last night was stir fry and bread making (my instruction manual turned up yesterday). I really want some decent Japanese noodles, found some udon noodles in Tesco but they were £1.45 and was just enough for two people. A trip to an Oriental cash and carry is needed
My Abel & Cole veg box is totally uninspiring this week:
Carrots
Fairtrade bananas (I eat these at work)
Green Lettuce (currently have half a lettuce from last week that I'm eating as wel!!)
Green Pointed Cabbage
Guyot-Pears (eat these at work too)
Mango (Probably cut up and eat at work)
New Potatoes (I have loads from previous weeks building up too)
Vine Tomatoes
What to cook?
That and I need to eat most things in my fridge before I go away next Tuesday. Three and a half days of work left, then two weeks off!! :rotfl:

hhmmm...minestrone soup? I always add some chopped potatoes to that and loads of shredded cabbage, so that would take care of some of it.
I get a box of veg every few weeks and still have some 'wet' garlic from about a month ago. Not very wet now

Poor Mr Mioliere!!
I agree with asking guests to help...maybe BiL can do the lawns for you when the weather allows, seeing as he's arriving 2 days early? And don't be scared to ask them to wash-up after meals, so you can have 5 minutes sit-down.... otherwise you will be too frazzled to enjoy the occasion.

Melli - you can eat lettuce cooked, like spinach. It doesn't really have much flavour, but it can bulk out all sorts of things. I use it in china chilo, which is lamb mince cooked with lettuce and peas, but I dimly remember a recipe involving white sauce which sounded desperately insipid.
mioliere - good luck on surviving the rest of this week. I trust your BIL comes bearing gifts and that those gifts include gin.
Little bear needs to have a nap. He usually manages two hours a day. Today he has had no nap at all. He has gruesome nappy rash and he was crying and struggling when I changed him earlier. I felt dreadful. He didn't want any dinner, so evil cat will probably be getting a bit of cooked chicken as well as some lamb, and he didn't even want any quavers when he normally hoovers these up.
I gave him a bottle, although he is getting away from day time bottles, and he half heartedly had some of that and then I put him back into his playpen to nap. From the sound of it he is building a tunnel. I also gave him some Medised to help take the pain away from his bottom (which was much better when I changed him the second time but he still cried) and which perhaps might help him drop off.
I can hear the evil cat stealing the chicken from little bear's dinner in the next room, but don't have the energy to chase her.
Well, I can try and get some work done or I can sit around and dither like I did yesterday. I have started reading the 50p per day til Christmas thread. I am up to page 5... I'll read two more pages and then I will get started - honest
