  • Morning all,

Kathy - you are right, what will be will be - you will all have a wonderful day. In the meantime make the visitors work!!!! Get them helping, give them some little jobs to do, or send them to Mr T (even if just for a pint of milk) to get them out.... And make sure you stop for a break & a cuppa & some time to yourself every now & then...

Chrisca, how annoying, can you not ebay them perhaps to try & get some of the money back??
N9eav, it's a british summer, surely you don't expect sunshine for more than the occasional day here & there?!?!
EssexGirl, fingers crossed for the dentist & enjoy the KFC :)
Snowy, if you've been there ages, even if agency, surely you should count as "internal" candidate??? Otherwise I agree, I'd be off now (if I could find something).
Hester, congratulations on finding the floor!!! Know the feeling at the moment...
Hilstep, wow what an exciting time!!! Have a fabulous holiday...

Happy Birthday Caterina if you're lurking too...

Was hoping to have a few hours to myself today as oldest DD was going to go to Bognor with my mum on the train, see her sisters & my sister, but she is now refusing to go, wanting to be with her friends. I understand that, but also thinks she needs a few hours distraction. But I can't force her either. Just really could do with a break myself... (and then I feel selfish for feeling that). Oh well, will motivate me to do some tidying up perhaps. Got some form filling I need to do for next University year too, so maybe get that done.

Catch up later. Have a good day all & (((((((((((hugs))))))))))) for all those needing them.

I posted that we are off today for a break, I said it was Portsmouth but it's Plymouth we are going to. Want to see the Barbican and lots of sight seeing. Don't care about the weather as it will be raining whereever we will be.

Have changed bedding, and put fridge food in freezer. Case all packed so just need to shower. I'll take my laptop so I can keep in touch.

More spare hugs going for those in need. Take care of yourselves.
Edit: Mioliere, Try not to get too stressed otherwise you will be to exhausted to enjoy the wedding, all will be fine.

    Morning everyone

Hester - I also found something I'd not seen in a long time - the bottom of the laundry basket! Makes such a difference with dd not here.

Hopefully oging round mate's after w*rk. She's been having some problems with her youngest and came home last night to find two very old and treasured gold rings missing and her eldest's PSP. She's got her middle son coming round today to change the locks and is considering calling the police. Feel so sorry for her - she is a wonderful Mother and doesn't deserve this. The lad is 22 and old enough to know better - GRRRR!

Have also fallen out a bit with middle dd - her BMI is 17.7 which means that she is seriously underweight and possibly malnourished - she has always been slim but is wasting away. she says it's not on purpose and that she is just running around after a three year old all day

Anyhoo must go or I'll be late again :)
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Good morning! Well, I've been gone for a bit as I was in hospital for over a week, but finally convinced the doctors that I was well enough to go home! DH has been doing a wonderful job taking care of DS and the household in general, but lots of little things have piled up while I was gone. I've got to get a bunch of things done - but slowly, as DH is watching me like a hawk, making sure I don't overdo it. LOL

The grocery challenge has completely fallen apart for July. So I'll have to go on August's and start over, I think.

Couple people on here planning and paying for weddings - wow! I don't even want to think about paying for a wedding for DD - she's 22 but not ready to get married yet, so we've got awhile before we have to worry about that, thank goodness.

Well, off to get some things done!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Good morning. You were all very welcoming to me yesterday so I thought I would pop in again.

mioliere - my wedding was very small, in the days when nobody had heard of sprinkles for the tables and weekend stag dos. I did have the usual upheavals and crises. On one end of the scale my mother refused to book a photographer, and as I was living over one hundred miles from where I was getting married I was rather stuck (it was also in the days before the internet) but fortunately my husband's uncle did the honours. On the other end of the scale my father had a major stroke eight weeks before the wedding and when I asked whether I should postpone the wedding the hospital said that I should keep it as 'it would give him something to live for'. The thing that kept any fragment of sanity for me was that anything that happened on the day, all those  moments, would be great anecdotes for the rest of my life. Whatever happens in the next few days, you will be married to a lovely person and all you can do is know that it is worth it and later you can look back and even giggle. It may even be worth keeping a little diary to vent in - in a few years time I honestly believe you will be able to chuckle about it. Congratulations and good luck.

I have changed two beds, new mattresses in place and new bedding. I need to put the last bed together and get it made up and then I am just on the housework. Just! And I forgot my antidepressant last night, so today may be a little bumpy. The bedding will have to go through the tumble dryer as the weather forecast is not good and the king sized duvet covers swamp my airer. I was hoping to take little bear to the park today, but with all the weather forecast (and a bigger than usual dippy forecast :o) I think it just may be to the chemist and the newsagents (where they do an excellent brand of gossip :D)

I didn't get time to make the shepherd's pie last night as little bear had a very serious nappy with gruesome nappy rash (teeth) and by the time I had wrestled through that it was oven chip time. :o My husband decided he didn't want cold lamb so had just chips and beans. Sigh. I don't like cooked meat on the fourth day, so my evil cat is going to be lucky.

Tonight I have planned to make bobotie for tea, but just do smash and frozen veg with it. I also should bake, I should have done that yesterday but didn't :o I really want to try and get my spending under control especially on food.

Little bear is grumbling and ready to get up, but I will call in later.

    Morning :hello:

Triggles, I'm in Glos too. The weather's rubbish, isn't it? I was going to weed the garden today :rolleyes2

I had a day off OSing yesterday, we went to Devon. We felt extremely rich (had £80 in my purse lol) so we decided to buy  lunch instead of making it, but when we got there we didn't really fancy anything and I wished I had some rolls with homegrown salad in my bag :D

I hope this post comes out OK, the page has gone weird and I can't see what I'm doing properly. I'll pop back later to post properly (and fix this post - I have no idea what it'll look like when I hit 'submit' lol)

    Morning all

I'm another one that's been missing for a day or two. My mum and DSis visited on Sunday and stayed til Monday. It's always nice to see family and at least it means all my housework is done so I can take it easier for the rest of the week. :j

Couple of appointments this morning then I have to post the book I sold on Green Metropolis. :j

Taplady I have a very annoying cough too. It kept me awake for the last few nights until last night I propped up a few pillows and actually managed to get a few hours uninterrupted sleep. Don't feel so bad today.

After my appointments, DS, DD and I will be heading to the gym and then out for a healthy lunch somewhere. Before I go though, I will do the little bit of tidying up that needs doing.

Have a great day all. xx

    Morning all

Woke at 5 and it was quite nice out, put some washing on and made a cuppa and thought I'll just go back to bed with it then get cracking as I wanted to go down town today. Well you can guess what happened, fell back asleep, woke up at 8 and its raining

Chrisca - I've got a pair of shoes that won't stay on. I got some of those gel things that are supposed to stop your feet hurting and they stop them slipping. I got mine from Boots, they were quite expensive for what they are, but last time I was in Primark I noticed that they are selling them now, think they were £2 for 2 pairs, as they're clear they should be ok in sandals.

Lots of weddings about. We are going to one in October, thought it was just for the evening do and I wouldnt need to buy a new outfit but the Bride rang yesterday and asked if we would like to come to the whole day, so thats a new outfit I need, am going to have a good search on ebay today.

Need another cuppa to get me going, falling back asleep has given me a fuzzy head
whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

    Stopped smoking 20:30 28/09/11 :D
