This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All!
Been awake since 3.30:mad: Got up at 5. Brain is buzzing. All DD's fault. inally decided on her wedding date and a venue, got to book it now. She spent last evening making me go through songs with her.
She wants Abba's "I do, I do, I do I do" to walk in to, and "Love is in the Air" to go out! What with having both her Dad and step-dad to give her away, I'm sure something will happen:rotfl:
It's gone from being a church hall, with my catering to a hotel with a sit down for 75!   Hope fiances parents will be chipping in!
Anyway, going shopping with her today. I'm off to St Lucia on Sunday, so I'll be away for a while.
(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) to all who need them
Have a great day folks!

:hello: Morning Hilstep, Morning everyone to follow
Hilstep I am GREEN with envy at your holiday destination. You will have a fantastic time I'm sure. I'm rather less envious of the bill your DD's wedding might create.
Wo*k - bah humbug!! Apparently if it "goes permanent" it will be offered to those who are already permanent within the hospital first, and agency staff (ie people like me) will not be considered. If that doesn't produce a suitable candidate then it'll go to the press and I'd be in competition with all and sundry. I need to get my skates on and find something else and leave of my own initiative before I'm sent.
Big hugs to everyone...I'm still too bleary eyed to do any thinking.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Snowy
PS: Nearly forgot!! Happy birthday to Caterina - we don't see her too often but I have a suspicion she's lurking. Have a fabulous day Caterina!

Morning all
Yesterday was a real struggle, hours of toil & plenty of blood sweat & tears, but it is true. There really is a floor in my bedroom & I know because I found it!!
Plans for today, shovel all the carp out of the study & give it a good dust.
Liver & Bacon with mash for tea.
Happy B'day to Caterina
Hugs Hester

Good morning all......
Early start today - am supposed to be going to see Mamma Mia tonight, but I have so much to do before I go away early on Thursday that I may have to cancel....
Hillstep - I'm not surprised you awoke early with that going on...... maybe you, DD & fiance & his parents could sit down & discuss money to set a budget before she sets her heart on a pricey wedding.....although I'm sure you have already thought of that
SnowyOwl - sometimes agency staff are able to apply as internal candidates....was that statement from the HR bods or management? Would you want the job if given the opportunity?
Hugs to all who would like one :grouphug:
Will catch up later,
Love Floss x0 -
Good Morning All
Happy Birthday Caterina
Sun has disappeared at the moment, think rain is forcast today but will still do a load of washing, as we are away at the weekend need all the clothes washed and dried.
Am totally skint now, put in an order for some school stuff, OH needed a new shirt for a wedding we have in a couple of weeks as did DS. Also ordered my Remoska from Lakeland yesterday which was very naughty but cant wait till it comes.
Need to spend money today though as promised kids KFC today - we are off to the dentist for our checkups and its quite far away but there is a KFC on the way home and as there isnt one we were live we generally have one when we go. So fingers crossed the dentist is cheap and at least kentucky is quite cheap.
Other than that it will be office work today, have a tiny amount of ironing that I will get done also.
Have a great day. (((hugs)) if needed.

Morning folks. I have missed a few days as I have been working 5-2 am. I managed to get up early today. It's still raining and had been for the past 9 days. It's total pants. How can it rain for 9 days?
Nothing much doing except work and mooching about inside!
I did get the chickens cleaned out yesterday between the showers and then it rained all evening.
No BBQ's nothing...NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hi everyone, I too missed a few days, mainly coz I've been really busy at home over the weekend. Also I spend most of my working day at a computer, so sometimes want a break. Looking a bit overcast here at the mo. OH went out to work in a fleece, saying it was cold! Hopefully will brighten up later. Happy birthday to Caterina. Have a good day, duddles0

Morning all
Sorted out mum's flat with the council yesterday, but had to send death cert to them for info. Got myself a nice pair of sandals in the sales at Bluewater. Got home thought I will try them out while going down to the Post Office to post of said death cert. Keep falling out of the flaming things, thats £20 down the drain  Why didn't that happen while I was parading around in them in the shop????
Housework today. Looking forward to trying to hoover while listening out for the doorbell for courier to pick up parcel for son - might take some time  More flaming ironing to do after that - does it breed during the night???
Have a good day all0 -
Hi all - a very quick one from me this morning because I have such a long list of things to get done. The wedding is not until Friday but my BIL is coming today and not Thursday as I'd hoped, so I feel as if I'm running out of spare time to get everything organised before the wedding. By Thursday, I'll have a house full but with BIL coming earlier I'm having to cram everything in in fewer days. TBH, I am getting myself worked up about all this and keep trying to take deep breaths and think 'what will be, will be' but that's not me! I'm worried I'll forget something really important and I hate that feeling. Still, I have a lot less to worry about than a lot of others here and I should count my blessings.
It's also pouring with rain here with no hope of any sunshine. I wanted to mow the lawns but that's out of the question now.
Have no idea what's for dinner. Might just do HM pizza from the freezer with bananas and custard for pudding.
(((Hugs))) to all in need this morning and hope everyone has a good day.
Hope to catch up with you all a bit later.

Morning all
Hilstep, have a great holiday. Our DS is getting married in a few weeks, and we are chipping in about a third of the cost. I can't believe how much a wedding costs, we could have several holidays in St Lucia instead
Just been out with the dog, and got soaked - is it really August ? Cooked a chicken yesterday, and stripped the red meat off it for a curry tonight. I forgot to put it in the fridge overnight, so hope it will be OK. Mind you, it's not exactly tropical out there is it
Must have a day sorting out things to list on Ebay (half price listing day on Thursday).
Went back to Matalan yesterday to get a Wolsey jumper for BIL for Christmas, reduced from £16 to £4, and they had mens boxers for 5 for £1. I also got a single goose feather quilt reduced from £14 to £3.50 :T
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever
