I'm Discount-Diva and I'm addicted to this site
(whispers) Nearly 44 yrs old, 2 Daughters 21 and 18, one left home and one to go....yippee!! I dream of living alone, to come home and everything is how I left it. Been a single Mum for 14 yrs so been through the mill financially but I'm finding my way career wise so hopefully there is light now. Work full time as an Accounts Payable Manager and when I get home I like to log on to this site to see what else I can learn. I'm now an avid hamper maker, a Bootser, I have started my de cluttering with a commitment to Ebay and Freecycle unwanted items, I am Shabby Chicking my bedroom and have claimed back charges from my credit cards, the list could go on!
So I feel I would be a little lost without this site, thank you all xProud to be dealing with my debts Sealed pot challenge 180 £2 coins £184 2008 £1 a day challenge£100+ Nectar 4809/Boots 1724 Focus for 2008 Clear £1777.00 CC, [strike]£1000 [/strike]overdraft Holiday [strike]£525[/strike]:j CC recovery£976 NO SMOKING WK7 £2100 -

:hello: Hi all I thought I had better come and introduce myelf, I have been lurking on here for so long and have learnt so much, i.e star drops etc. I have only just built up the courage to post.
I currently work 3 jobs, a full time TA in a secondary school, a bank nurse and a youth leader. I also volunteer as a beaver scout leader. So as you can imagine not alot of time at the moment, But that is going to change soon and I am going to become a part time SAHM, I hope to give up my school job and just do a couple of nights nursing.
My son is currently being assessed for Aspergers Syndrome so I really could do with spending more time at home etc. So on that note any money saving efforts are going to help me move towards that goal.
I have just joined the losing weight old style challange and will join more soon.
Anyho thats all about me, oh sorry, I am 27 and married with two boys aged 7 & 8.

Hello everyone. I have been a member on the forum for a long time but don't think I've ever introduced myself. Forgive me if I have. The hour is late (or early depending how you look at it). The reason I'm still around at this unearthly hour is: I've had a drink (alcohol, does funny things to you like write stupid messages on forums). I'm Erosgirl because my Dad's name was Heros, but always known as Eros. Last year I completed a journal project and asked permission to include some recipes from OS and was granted as long as I made it clear where they originated, which I did. The actual launch of the journal project was at Butetown in Cardiff, but after that the journals were on show at St Fagan's Musuem. So all you lovely people whose recipes I used a big THANK YOU!!0

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie (this is even my first post). I stumbled on this site by accident after googling "many meals from one chicken". I decided to poke around and am so happy I did! This is exactly the kind of site I've been looking for. Seems like a very friendly and supportive community with lots of great ideas. I've been looking to my grandparents (and parents for some part) generation for inspiration on ways to live, save money, and eat 'healthier' more pure food.
Although I'm not from the UK I do admit that British shows are quite honestly my fave. Having recently discovered the River Cottage Treatment shows which I know are well known in the UK this is the perfect environment to learn about this new way money saving and healthy eating. :T
Oops, forgot to tell you about myself: 29 (going on 30 soon - yikes!) in a relationship with a great guy whom I'm moving in with in less than a month. Really looking forward to planning our meals and keeping us on track with a budget. So any advice for couples' finances is more than welcome! I'm a marketing director for an e-commerce company here in Montreal, Canada and my man is in IT sales."If you bend down to pick up a penny, you'll never be poor"

Hi thought i'd best introduce myself, i've been around on MSE for a few years and come here mostly for the declutter bit, but am trying to do the grocery challenges and flylady but failing at the moment.
I'm an accounant ( i know i know shouldn' be in this mess) and most of the debt is due to training and setting up home and crafting.
I'm getting married in Sept and OH has still to move here and move in, can't wait. We have no children only furbabies.0 -
Hello, I've been lurking for a while and have just got around to posting.
I work full time in an office and hubby is a self employed driving instructor, he's still building up his trade and this is the first year that he will make any profit.
We built up quite a lot of debt a few years ago when hubby was made redundant just as I finished uni as a mature student. It's been a tough few years but we've come out of it stronger than before and having learnt that money doesn't make you happy, so it wasn't a bad learning curve!
We've finally managed to get on top of most of the debt by freeing up equity and moving into rented accomodation and things are looking up, I'm keen to save money where I can to avoid getting into more debt and have been very encouraged by the OS board.
There are just the two of us, OH has adult children and his first grandchild was born in November, I love his kids and the new babe, I've just never had the urge to take home one of my own so it works well for all of us!Piglet
