  • Hello everyone.

I've been lurking for ages and don't post often as I get addicted very easily, hence my user name;)
Old Style is a lovely place to be so i hope to pop in more often.
I live in the far north of Scotland miles from anywhere civilised and am married with two small daughters. I work part time for my husband's small business and am halfway through writing my first book:eek:

Life is pretty good. I do have one strange habit:o

    (I quite like housework)
However.... I do get fed up being taken for granted and clearing up after messy men!

My idea of acheiving something with my day is getting 5 bits of fruit and veg into my kids;)
  • Hi just wanted to say a :j big hello :j to everybody as I have been a serial lurker for about 2 years now. So thought it was about time to introduce myself and take part.

Anyway here goes I am a 37 year old happily maried mum of 3 girls 6/12/14. I work part time in a local faimily run main cardealership in a clerical role. They are very flexible with my hours to work around the kids.

I spend most of my spare time reading all MSE brilliant Forums. Any spare time i get I am on here reading I am now thinking that I am getting obsessed. I have now bought a slow cooker and love it . My next purchase is going to be the breadmaker lol.

Thanks for all the great tips and advice. I will try and chirp in with any advice where I can but i will probably asking more questions that giving answers lol.
  • hi , I often look at these boards but today is the 1st time Ive posted ,
Im a mum of 3 with ages between 20 and 5 , we have recently moved from leeds to the lincolnshire coast ,weve got a fab house here but it needs lots of money spending on it and funds are running low ,hence my visits to these boards.
Im going to join in the feb grocery challenge ,quite looking forward to it in a strange sort of way.
will have to spend more time walking the dog ,than my usual hobby walking round the shops , hopefully to save a few £,s and lose a few pounds off my butt too.
there are some really great ideas on here ,cant wait to put some to the test.

  • Stay at home mum to 18 mth old, 6 mths pregnant with no 2.

Dabble selling on ebay but always end up buying with profits. just signed up for 8 sites where they pay you to fill in surveys. was wondering when id have to go back to work as partners wages just cover bills and just scraping by on minimal benefits, but now theres no way we could afford two kids in a decent nursery. id have to work 5 days a week in a better job then i had just to put my kids in nursery 5 days a week. whats the point.

ps any others ways on making money from home with clingy toddler glued to lap would be much appreciated.

I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks so maybe its time I said hello.

I’m 57, fighting depression, and not able to work and so money is tight. I’d like to be living a somewhat simpler life and be kinder to the world we live in. I have 2 grown up kids, and an 8yo gd.

I’ve already learnt so much from this site – thanks all! :T I’m joining in on the grocery challenge although Feb is almost done.

Look forward to getting to know everyone here, and maybe even being a useful member one day!
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
