  • Hiya,

I am a newbie, but have been a long-time lurker!!!

I am 22, and work full time for an educational charity in London. I currently live with my parents, but will be buying somewhere this year!!! Hopefully a flat someone not far from Zone 2/3.

Hope to learn some OS tricks for when I move to the big wide world on my own!!!
  • HI

Thought it was about time I introduced myself as I've been posting here for the last month or so. I'm 28 and am engaged to be married in May to my BF who's 25. I work full time as a laboratory technician which can be quite physically tiring so the labour saving tips and hearty recipes on here are much appreciated. We've had to totally re-evaluate our lifestyles as we fell into the debt trap and got burnt! We're taking things in hand now and thanks to MSE there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm currently looking for a job nearer home as my 35 mile each way commute is doing neither me or my wallet any good at all!

    Hi,
Have been posting for a while but haven't introduced myself until now - age 35, married with 3yr old son, 2 cats, 2 dogs, 1 cow (yes, a real one!).
Work 28 hours a week as a web systems developer, and the rest of the time pottering about with my son on my parents farm. Hoping to get a greenhouse going this year. Lived on convenience foods until our son was born but now totally try to cook everything from scratch and bake at least once a week with my son! Believe in good quality local produce and real meat. Once thought about raising my own pig (a la River Cottage) but decided I was too soft!

Wow - totally did not know this thread was here!

    Hi
I'm 28, live with my OH (also 28) and our 10 month old daughter. Have been a lurker on MSE for AGES but only started posting regularly when I got pregnant as our income dropped by half and we needed help!

I'm a stay at home mum... I thought it would be easy but boy was I wrong!! Would love to work from home but dont know what I could do. Will be starting an OU degree in Feb so that will keep me busy.

Could talk about me for ages so will stop before I bore you ;)

  • Hi i'm Brian,

Been posting on the site for a few days now although mostly on the Tech board cause i'm a computer technician. I'm 24 single and live alone. I work full time Mon-Sat 9 till 5.
Trying to get out of debt so I can eventually buy my own place. Currently in a private let.

Came on too the OS board cause New Years resolution was to cut down amount spent on my terrible eating habits (Takeaways and Microwave food). Also to drop the amount spent per month on food from around £250 to something reasonable. Just need to learn how to cook now.

Well sorry for boaring you all with my story
  • I'm a journalist - used to be a finance and economics "expert" until the heart attacks kicked in. Now work for a local newspaper and a motoring magazine.
OH and myself thought we had everything covered, very careful with money, only debt a small mortgage, own two cars and a caravan outright...
But we want to retire and can't afford to. OH says we cannot live any more sensibly than we already do and our pension pay outs are rubbish.
Hence this site to find out what we've missed :-)

    Hello,

I am single and work full time but I am not good with money, have little savings and waste my disposable income. I work hard for my annual holiday but I could save more if I made the effort. I have been lurking on here for a while and need to make some changes to save pennies here and there. I do dabble with ebay and am about to start to dabble on amazon (am loving the amazon thread BTW) as a hobby which makes hopefully a few extra pounds on the side.

I am particularly wasteful with food ie takeaways and prepared etc and have spent hours reading the OS threads. This is a great site, wish I found it years ago.

    See you all around.
