Hi , I am 43 married to the lovely Lord E and have 2 gorgeous sons aged 5 and 2 . I got into this site after hearing Martin on the Jeremy Vine slot and if ever a man spoke with passion about a subject (money saving in this case) then Martin made me go weak at the knees!!
I work part time, 16 hours a week, but if Lord E would allow it , I would love to be at home and watch our boys grow up and for them to have the love and security that I had when I was young. I admit to being a hopeless cook and would dearly love to get hold of recipes that dont baffle me or frighten me. I can do the standard Chilli , Shepherds Pie and a few pasta dishes , then I struggle........oh how I struggle .
Lovely to meet you all , must dash I can smell burning from the kitchen again ...

Hi, i'm a single parent to three, 2 sons 12 and 6 and a daughter aged 9.I too am more a lurker than a poster-lol.I got onto these boards by reccomendation. After splitting from my ex 3 years ago, i knew things would be hard as i'm a part-time civil servant. But, i've always been a bargin hunter and will not pay more for anything! People at work laugh at my budgeting, but are the same ones that ask 'how can she afford this and that'.By not wasting money -that's how-lol.I've told many about the boards ,but they take no notice-when many of them should. ;)

    Hi
I am 41 and happily married to my second hubby! I have two grown up children- a son who is 20 tomorrow and a 22 year old daughter. I also have a 22 year old stepson. Both my kids are away at Uni and so i have plenty of free time now. I am addicted to ebay(loooooove selling on it) and stumbled across this site purely by chance. Now I am hooked. I have started making changes to our budget and I can see the difference already. I dont work- leave that to OH!!!!!

    Hi
I'm 54 with 4 children who are all grown & flown. I'm still trying to recover financially from a very acrimonious divorce. We split everything 50/50, he kept 4 things & I kept 4, he got the house, savings, business & pension, I got all 4 kids. Believe me I got the best deal.
I learnt how to live on very little the hard way, by being married to Scrooge!
I am very happy, I work for a local school, 7:30 till 3:30, I take in adult students who are learning English as a foreign language & I temp in the school holidays. This enables me to keep a roof over my head, unfortunately I have a mortgage as property is expensive in Berkshire. But my New Years Resolution it to pay at least £2000 extra off my mortgage this year. Wish me luck!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hello all

I'm 34 ( I think - keep loosing count!) DH 37 and two DD aged 9 and 6. Came across this site by accident, and life has never been the same again! Husband is in FT management in the NHS, and I am a Minister of Religion (Officer) in the Salvation Army - have been doing this for the past 2 years. I am a trained midwife and nurse and worked my way high up on the NHS ladder and then followed my calling and took a £24,000 pa pay cut! I must say that our life style is much better now, more time with the family, much simpler, more time to sepnd on the things that matter. I just wish that I knew years ago what I know now! Have been lurking for a while and will be posting - thanks to all for sharing your experiences and your wealth of knowledge and advice. X

    Hi Everyone,

Im 32, married, no kids just one little kitty. We both work full time but very long hours. We have basically lived on convienence food for a number of years and now our health is suffering because of it. So I came here to (obviously) save money as I like nice holidays etc but also to learn to cook heathly food that doesnt cost the earth.

I want to be a stepford wife LOL

I would also LOVE to work from home but I dont have any trade skills, so if anyone has any ideas for me I would love to hear them.

    Thanks for such great boards.
