Hello all
I'm Jack92 (a female!) from Kent. Currently on maternity leave after having my third baby, but not going back to work this time, so I'll officially be a SAHM from 21st December! Money is going to be a bit tighter from January when my maternity pay funds run out, so we need to try to find ways of cutting back a bit. I don't get to post on here as much as I'd like  because by the time I've caught up reading the posts I run out of time to write anything, but I am here reading the posts regularly!

Hello! Just thought I'd pop by and make myself known
With a sudden realisation that we have to sort finances out in order to get out of debt, plan a family, change jobs and (one day) set up a B&B in the country (!), I'm going to be on here a lot!
In a nutshell: I'm 23 with 32 year old hubby, work full-time so only on here during work hours, 2 cats (my babies), VW Beetle nut, and wannabe 'Good Life' imitators.
Hi to all!New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -
Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a couple of months and finally plucked up courage to join in (I'm completely new to chat forums so it's a bit scary.)
I'm 52, live with DH who's disabled but works p/t as a civil servant, and I was one myself until today - contract just been terminated as I've got M.E./CFS and had been off sick for ages. DS age 20 lives at home too - can't imagine him ever being able to afford to leave! LOL. Also have 2 DDs, both married, and 1 DGS.
I'm finding this site a real inspiration, especially O/S, and would like to thank all of you, especially for making me see that it's not the end of the world being unable to go to work! Tho I'd like to think I might have another job one day, even at my advanced age!LOL
Forgot to say we also have 2 elderly cats. They are mother and son. Sadly the son is bigger thn his Mum, so we have to watch him or he jumps out on her when she's trying to have a peaceful wash!0 -

Hi money savers!
I'm Iguana, I'm 47 and from South West London. I've got 3 adult children, the eldest is 24, and two 20 year old twins (m&f)
I work in home care, currently I'm an acting manager. My husband is retired, and stays at home.
I like reading, and yoga, I also have two crazy cats... (and a goldfish called suishi) I also enjoy gardening, although my garden doesn't show it because its a mess!
I'm finding these forums really helpful, and I'm amazed at the diversity of people and subjects on here. I hope to pick up a lot more useful tips.
Well thats about all for now!

Hello everyone,
I'm become addicted to reading the moneysaving forums in the past few weeks, especially OS. I'm a 24 year old PhD student in Kent, my husband is 23 and works as site manager at an open-air museum. I work from home at least one day a week. I'm from a background of take-aways/ready meals but he's from an OS background of making and baking so I've learnt quite a lot from him over the past 5 years!
We rent and are trying to save as much money as we can to be able to buy one day, which will be very hard as his career will be low paid and I'm unlikely to start my career until after we have a family. Luckily I have a decent studentship to support me whilst I do the PhD. Although we're not in debt, our outgoings do always expand to how much we have, so reading this forum has really been encouraging me to try not to spend so much!
We are lucky to have been given lots of kitchen goodies as wedding and birthday presents so we have a slow cooker (which I'm being inspired to use more from posts on here), a pressure cooker which we use all the time and a kenwood major - we go through phases of making bread but again I'm being inspired to do this more often from reading this board. We are lucky enough to share chickens with our landlady, and as we let them in and out most days she usually buys the food so in effect our eggs are free - and scrummy! :j We try and live as "ethically" as we can so our trolley is a mixture of free-range/organic/fairtrade foods and the value ranges for everything else! We are v lucky to have a great weekly organic box scheme which DH picks up from the farm, and an organic farm shop 3 miles away which does good meat and poultry, and sometimes we have meat from where DH works so we know they were well looked after! To compensate for spending more on meat from animals that have lived reasonable lives, we try to eat vegetarian food at least once a week.
As well as the chickens, we have two lovely guinea pigs who live inside and squeak loudly when they can hear us chopping veg in the kitchen. We also have an 11 month old puppy - a small bundle of never decreasing energy who goes to work with DH every day - she's a cross between working sheepdog and working english setter so v hard work! She needs a constant supply of toys to keep her happy.
Thanks to someone on here mentioning it I've joined flylady and thats really helping me stay on top of the housework so we have more time for cooking.:shhh: There's somewhere you can go and get books to read... for free!
:coffee: Rediscover your local library! _party_0 -
Hi all
2 Daughters 4 and 5, Hubby, Cat 13.
I am a 33 yr old SAHM and I work when needed at youngest daughters nursery. Take a friends child to school most morning's to help her out. Also help out at a nightclub once a month for adults with learning disabilitys, running the Karoke!!
I was a ebayer but it went quiet over the summer (must get back into it) and I have since got hooked into this site!
Hubby want's me to go back to work when my youngest starts school in sep 06 but i dont know what to do? Do I go back to shop work (hated it), or do I train to do something in computers? I would love to show people how to use their computers, even show people this site!
Also Hubby has said that I have a target of only going to Tesco's once a week instead of once a day(!).
