    Hello there,
I registered with MSE hours ago and this is my very first post. I've been skulking (Oops! lurking) around the OS forum for three weeks and loving the contents.

I've retired, which possibly means that I'm the "group granny". My DH and I live in a quiet street in the city and have a tiny garden with flowers & veg. No supermarket or decent shop nearby, so thank goodness we have an old banger to get about in. Family & friends have migrated to other places.

Rising prices and low income demands frugal living. I've been given a medium sized unused slow cooker from the 80's and bought a second-hand bread machine. Never used them before, so I'll undoubtedly be meeting some of you in the forums where I'll be reading the posts and asking many questions.
May we all achieve our goals. - WeegieWumman

  • I'm new to money saving and I like the idea of old style.
I'm married, have 2 grown up sons, a daughter in law, and a granddaughter. I work full time shift work but I'd much rather be a housewife. I am living with depression which I am now receiving treatment for and is helping me pull my life together again. My finances and my home are a mess but to the outside world I appear to be confident and capable. I have been through a stressful and expensive time and my husband dropped another expensive shocker on us last night which he was worried could split us up, but I'm happy to say we can get through it and maybe it's given us the shake we need to sort ourselves out. I'm currently working on a new budget as ours is way out of date and trying to figure out how much debt we are actually in.:(

  • Hi all,

I'm new here and looking forward to joining some grocery challenges and the fly lady thread.

I'm a British expat living abroad with my husband for a few years so enjoying seeing new places and new experiences. We both work full time and I travel a lot so our flat could do with some attention.

We have a mortgage which we overpay monthly at the same time as saving for a deposit on a dream house. We are renting with no desire to buy abroad.

I'm looking forward to get to know you all through various challenges.
