Hello
I am a wife to my gorgeous hubby married 5 years this July
I also work part time 3 evenings a week. I detest my job, i have been there 5 years and it is horrendous.
We got in a massive mess after buying our first house together 5 years ago and entered into an IVA in December 2010. It was a very difficult decision for us to make and life has been even harder really since but with a more positive outcome thats for sure. Its been tough learning so much about ourselves i think is what i mean by that.
I love reading OS and have decided to start posting a bit moreEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Hi all as a newbie I must say you all seem very friendly and this site could become addictive. A little bit about myself ......been married for 44 years (married young)...still working full time but have been off for a while because of operation for BC. I will be going back next week. My kids are grown up and I have 4 grandchildren (2 of each). Love to bake, sew etc but came on this site mainly to find out how to save money on our expenditure which seems to rocket every month! However, reading through some threads on here does seem to have given me some inspiration to frame myself. Thanks0

Debt free on 1st Sept 2011...what a journey!

Hello all.
I've been mainly lurking for a while, seem to have gravitated to this sub-forum after hanging around the debt-free board for a bit.
I'm married, with a little girl, and have been trying to make ends meet as a SAHM with a husband on not very much cash. Some days it seems like the whole world think we're mad for living a low-maintenance, make-do-and-mend lifestyle, so it's nice to come here and read about other people living the thrifty life.
I'm a part-time childminder, and I fill in the (frequent) gaps with a bit of survey sites and ebaying. I do home cooking, and just got an allotment (everything dies ), and started brewing my own wine. I'm realising there's lots more I could do to be even more hardcore with money saving and get my debts shifted, so I'm hoping to pick up some good tips! But mainly I'm unlurking for some company, and moral support!
PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS

Just started posting last week, after years of lurking:)
Mum to two, married and both work full time. Still need the MSE way, as still never seem to have enough to cover basics!!
Hope to be debt free by Dec 2012.
I love the tips, hints and inspirational people on the forum.:T0 -

I am along term lurker and have just started meal planning and will give the GC a good shot this month. I am really hoping to keep the food bills down whilst still eating well so we can spend the money on doing lots of nice things instead
..well that's my plan!!! I am a serial spending too much daily in the SM at the end of our road person and I need to gain control!!!!
I don't work, so have time to cook from scratch, which I love, and I sell a little on Ebay, mainly clothing, as well as do Comps which brings in extra money and lovely surprises through the door, and i'm aiming to get all birthday and christmases sorted with prizes.
I have a lovely DH who is a nurse and a 15 year old daughter who costs us a fortune, but i wouldn't swap her for the world.
Love these boards and look forward to chatting to you all and getting even more fabulous tipsGrocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Hi all *waves*
New to this forum, can usually be found on the comp boards (don't seem to have much luck!!) but spent a ridiculous amount of pennies on food last month  so want to try & set myself a target.
I'm 23, work full time as an accountant & i've just bought a house with my hubby of a year & our 5 month old german shepherd puppy.Best Win 2011 - VIP Trip to Vegas

hi everyone!
I've been on the forums for a few months now (properly posting I mean), but I've only recently started looking at the OS boards. I really enjoy reading everone's tips and ideas and I finally took the plunge this month and started the June GC challenge!
I'm 24 and I work in a lab (boring stuff I wont go into details) full-time. I rent with my long-term DW who's the same age but is studying for his degree. As we've only got one real income we're living month to month without any real savings to speak of, (following Martin's advice and trying to get rid of debts before starting to save!)
So thats my intro I guess....Hi!!:o xxEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️
