Hello everyone
I joined today after lurking for a while. I have picked up some great ideas.
I am married, have three children aged 21, 15 and 14. We have a dog, bearded dragon and a snake.
I work part time and am studying an open learning course.
I enjoy cooking, gardening and helping my dh on our allotment.
It's good to be on board and 'meet' all of you

I thought I would say hi properly here as I have only been a member a couple of days and posted a couple of times. I live in North Wales with my 2 grown up kids, who seem to leave home to only come back again
I also have an elderly dog and a neighbours cat who seems to think she lives here.
I work part time, but am about to be made redundant in a couple of weeks. Luckily I am in a position where I don't need to work and was planning on giving up work next March when I hit the big 50, so am going to take this as an extra early retirement.
I know we waste lots of money here on food, shopping etc so my plan is to get good with budgeting, meal planning and saving this year. I will be hopefully getting back into cooking proper meals and cakes etc rather than buying a load of rubbish and throwing it away every week.
I have seen loads of helpful hints on here and look forward to chatting lots more with you all0 -
Welcome SpendlessKaren, this is a great place for ideas and inspiration; look forward to seeing you around the boards... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I don't think I have posted here yet, but memory is awful so sorry if you all get deja vu! Well discovered OS threads a year ago, and changed a few things. Now I am going the whole hog in order to get our debts cleared and under control. (plus I am really enjoying it!)
It's me, my OH and DD 2.5 (plus a crazy labradoodle called Barney!) OH works FT and v.long hours sometimes. I do 3 days a week, and on my my 2 days off I look after another little girl same age as mine (we save on childcare through this, plus DD loves having a friend to play with) although can be stressful and busy with 2 toddlers intent on killing each other sometimes!
Hope to get to know everybody over the coming months and thanks to all whose tips and recipes I have already stolen!Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

I've been interested in reading peoples' ideas+ tips etc and the person who wrote that this site is addictive is right . I'm on here most evenings + have picked up some good ideas so thanks for those.0
