Hi everyone,
I'm 28 and a mum to my wonderful 11 week old baby girl. I'm currently off work on maternity leave and would dearly love to stay at home with her for a few years but that's probably not going to be possible financially. I'm trying to make ends meet whilst on maternity leave as I really want to take at least a year off, with just OH pay and am looking forward to picking up as many tips as possible.
Pleased to meet you all.

Hello! I'm 28 and live in the SE. I commute daily into London for a job which doesn't pay very much but I have a love/hate relationship with! - it's interesting but can be all-consuming. I live with my fiance - we've just bought our first house together after a few years' renting and are just starting to plan a wedding for July 2012.
I've always been - ahem - thifty (OK, pennypinching) but it's mostly been a hobby/eccentricity rather than a necessity. I'm now realising with a mortgage to pay it's going to be vital! I've been MSing for a few years and am a bit of a spreadsheet geek, so I'm now exploring new ways to make our home nice without spending loads, and to have a good life without giving into the 'must-have' commercialisation and 'keeping up with the Joneses' that seem to be all around us.
I don't enjoy the City lifestyle (I seem to have been sucked in somehow) and my OH and I would love to have a family once we're married, so I'm excited about finding ways to be more self-sufficient and build a less materialistic life for us...0 -

Hi, i'm Claire, married and SAHM to 2 little monkeys age 6&4. I will be getting a job this year however we really HAVE to save money this year. It is my NY resolution to get a better handle on the money and I need to use ideas from here rather then just read about them!!“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
Welcome mcja, lots of good ideas here to help you

Thought I'd say hello here properly.
I'm a single mum of 3 great kids aged 9,10 & 15. Currently working 31 hours a week as CSR in a call centre (please don't hate me, I'm a nice person really!). I'm also attending night classes training as a Special Educational Needs assissitant, so hopefully I may be looking for a new job later this year.
I've lurked about the forums on and off for a couple of years so thought I'd jump in. I love the OS board but should really spend more time looking through the Debt-free Wannabe board  Hoping to reduce my debts this year and wise-up in regards to what I'm spending.
Nice to finally say hi!

Hello everybody
I've been a MSE lurker for quite some time but things are getting really tight now and I need to put the things I've read into practice!
I have 3 kids aged 10 &6 I don't work as I'm a carer for my mum but my partner works full time.
I'm a rubbish cook, well not really but I'm not imaginative and my kids are fussy eaters and I don't know how to cook cheaply and plan properly( I know, the shame) so am hoping people here can lead me gently...

Septembergirl - I've worked in a few call centres - I'm nice too. Welcome. Single mum of 3, working and evening classes - you are a brilliant for coping with all of that.:)
cakeybaker - Welcome. No worries about the cooking, nobody is born able to do it, lots of us have been lucky enough to have had good advice as we've gone along. I'm sure you'll be as great as you name suggests.:)Put the kettle on.0
