  • Fianlly got around to posting on this thread so here goes.
I'm 34, hubby is 37 we have 4 children between us. Eldest is 12 and had Aspergers and ADD, the twins are 11 (son has ADHD and girl is a little mother hen) and yougest son is 5. The eldest three are from my first marriage but hubby adopted them and the youngest is from hubbys first marriage, he lives with his mother and her girlfriend but we have him alternate weekends. I left my ex due to his psychological problems and abuse and he later died. We moved back to Scotland a few years ago and were lucky to find a little old style cottage to rent. No central heating, no gas, private well for water and septic tanks so it's well made for money saving, only fuel bills are electric and rare bags of coal as the farmer gives us unlimited wood to burn.
I don't work as I have MS so I potter around doing what I can but hubby drives a small lorry delivering cars and vans all over Europe so he's away most weeks.

I'm 26, OH is 31. Have a nearly 2 year old and a 8 week old, both girls, needless to say hubby don't want more kids as he's scared he'll end up with another girl & will be stuck with houseful of women to moan at him.

Currently on maternity leave but usually work as civil servant & youth worker.

Completely addicted to these forums and use them lots when babies are sleeping.

Finally managed to read all of this thread :D

I'm 29 (eek, nearly 30) and I work in IT. I've not long moved into my fantastic new flat after 9months of renting a shoebox (rather than be stuck with two mortgages..) and I'm loving it.

Old style's encouraged me to go back to baking, which is saving me a fortune as now I'm in my flat I've barely an evening to myself with friends coming over all the time and they were eating me out of house and home! Now I give them baking which costs me pennies and they think I'm terribly clever :D
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...
  • hello everyone,

I've been lurking for a long while, some areas of MSE are quite daunting, particularly The Arms, but this seems a safe enough place to introdcue myself.
i'm late 30s, married, one child, work part-time. I find it interesting to read everyones tips which have been very helpful, and really will try and post myself now as there seem to be such a lot of friednly people on here
  • Hello all, I'm 24 and work from home (internet research). Love MSE but have trouble convincing other half that we need to save- I am frugal by nature. MSE has enabled us to save enough to emigrate (Thank you Martin and all MSE'lers!) and I now type tips from sunny Australia. Hence the funny times of posting. I now have to continue saving so we can buy a house with land for horses and hens and a bigger herb garden. SO GLAD to hear about all of you!!

    Hi Everyone
Been directed here by apprentice tycoon....

I'm 39 (40 in Oct... ) have a dh, ds 13, a dog, 6 cats & numerous fish in pond (in fact we bought 6 more and added today!!!) Hubby not working as classed as disabled due to having a very bad back (doctor told him he had bones of a 90 yr old!!) When he's really bad i have to help dress him etc.

Love my garden. Grow a lot of plants from cuttings & seeds. Grow my own salad stuff, beetroot, runnerbeans, peas. Have fruit trees (cooking apple, eating apples, plum & pear), also grow in our fruit cage, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, rhubarb & gooseberries. Plan to grow more next year like potatoes and more salad items.

Love our computer, dh built a good one for ds 13th birthday..........as he was always on ours.......... whooooppeeee! now its free for me to use :D

Oh yeah nearly forgot...............Love this Site!!!!!!! :T
  • Typical! I'm late! I've been lurking for a while but today is my first day posting. I'm 27 and OH is 28 (29 next week!) I'm a stay at home mum to a 2 yr old and a 7 month old. I also sell Usborne books as an organiser, which is my way of keeping my head above water.

You guys are my inspiration - and my only spend yesterday was a chilli pepper plant for my patio. I'm going to start square foot gardening, but I don't know what's not too late for this year or whether to start properly in the spring ...

Pennypinching is getting easier the harder I try! :rotfl:

    Just joined up!

    I'm Adrienne. 36 work part-time, 2 daughters ( 1 and 2 years), 1 stepson (24 - don't think he'll ever leave !!), 2 cats, 1 dog and husband, Nick.

Currently financially strapped due to the astronomical cost of nursery fees (£608 per month - arghhhhhh!!!!) for the 3 days I'm at work! Have recently started meal planning but not finding it a huge amount cheaper as was already pretty much cooking most things from scratch. Just a bit more organised about it now... kind of.

Really enjoying this board so far and no doubt will be asking lots of questions in no time

  • Hi everyone,
I'm 44, part-time IT auditor (not sure how that happened, I was supposed to be a jockey), have 1 toddler, 4 dogs, small house, partner also in IT who happens to have the most ferocious money pit of a house project on the go aswell as working fulltime. Have been massively in debt, now clear and free but still have the tendencies to go for the brands and designers half of the time and the other half want to be totally OS.

Love this forum, but can only post the few days "small" is asleep in bed as the PC is in the loft and I can't do it from work.
  • Hi I'm Paul
Just found this forum 30 mins ago. Looks good. I'm married, 2 boys, 2 girls, into property development and gardening. Created my first website last week. Very interested in building wealth. I reckon I will be visiting MSE quite often from now on.
