Hiya
I'm 41 live with DH, DD(20yr) and 6 cats. I live in the SE but long to live somewhere far more remote. I used to work intermintantly through agencies but now work 5 days a week. Trying to find a way to be mortgage free and to build up some savings. I was raised an OS type but lost my way and am now trying to rediscover the wisdom my gran tried to impart to me.Put the kettle on.0 -
.....I just wanted to say hi and thank you. I've been saving for my own house for ages and reading this board planning thinking that "When I get my house, I'll......". I finally moved into my house a week ago and just wanted to say, as a long time lurker, thank you for all the advice I've been reading up on! I have my lentil soup bubbling away on the hob at the moment and my freezer is filling up with yummy home made meals all on my £35 a week budget. My mum by the way believes this is going to be impossible to live on. "Watch and learn is my catchphrase" of the decade so far.
So, here's to getting to know you all better!

I'm one half of a married couple (29 & 28 yrs old), getting fully on board with my wife's thrifty ways! I actually bought her the ML Thrify Ways for Modern Days book for Christmas - as I know she likes to save where possible - and now I can't get off this site!0

I work full time for a large catering company. I bought my own flat 3 years ago and share it with two gorgeous moggies called Felix and Toupe.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
