    Hi all,

I'm just wondering if someone could point me to where the Tesco official policy is written up online? After much searching I cannot find their official policy online to explain the DTD policy etc. I would like to have it to back myself up if I ever try to claim something, as I would feel a bit uncertain that I was in the right!

Also, when there is the situation that a SEL says there was an offer that expired, how can you argue that you have been overcharged when the offer has clearly already expired? Is it simply a case of saying to customer services: "The price on the SEL is the only price displayed, and therefore it should be what I pay even though it clearly states that the price on the label has expired?"I would feel a bit uncertain about standing my ground as it clearly should not be the lower price anymore!

And finally, when there is a SEL price that differs to the price on the actual item yet you get charged the higher price, how can you really argue that you've been overcharged?

Maybe I just need to be a little bit more insistent, I just would feel as though I were playing the conman!

Any advice would be appreciated, I would love to pick up some of the items with a great DTD back, just need a little coaxing into the 'complaining customer' mode!

    Thanks

And the policy states that they pay dtd if you are charged more than what is on the sel label or the product itself, no mention of whether expired or not. Think the expiry date is mostly there so that customers can check how much longer an offer is running and also for staff to see so they know when to remove sel...not your fault if label is still there despite expiry if staff have not removed it!! However this said, the expiry date on the sels do not always seem to add up as I bought some beers today which were 2 boxes for 16 but sel said offer expired yesterday but still went through at 2 for 16 (I was hoping to be charged the full £20.20 and then get £8.40 back but no such luck!)

Still worth checking the sels on the digital phones as noticed today that some still had the 28/12/2008 end date on them mixed up with others which had a 2009 date. I bought the BT500 and was overcharged (£99.99 instead of £49.99) and given double the difference no problem by very helpful lady on customer services desk...meant I got the phone for nothing. Good luck.

Quick question, what happens if you get a DTD opportunity when customer service is shut? Say I was overcharged at 10pm but cust service shuts at 8pm, I wait till the morning and they've changed the SEL?

Hi All, I'm a bit out of the loop here. I used to be addicted to this thread when it was RnR I think about three years ago when I was pregnant but I'm sure I then read they'd changed the policy and all you got back was the difference in price. Am I right in reading that the policy has now changed? Sorry if I appear dim and the thread is self explanatory... just want to hear it straight.

    TIA!

    As page 1 says.........
This thread is only for posting any misprices you find at Tescos.

Please don't use this thread for discussion of the policy or any other discussions as this will detract from the actual misprices which will get lost amongst the chatter.

    For new readers:

For clarification SEL stands for Shelf Edge Label, R & R stands for Refund & Retain, DTD stands for Double the Difference

The Tesco policy changed on 26th February 2007 to Double the Difference back if you have been overcharged.
