I went into the new Oxford store today. Was actually pretty big and well space out, was absolutely heaving though!
Picked up 8 pack of Skips crisps, wrapping paper, 3 x Colgate toothbrushes, men's wash bag, deodorant, shower gel. Fantastic bargains! Could have bought more!0 -

I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them. Maybe it depends on the type of cake you make ie fruit or sponge?

Has anyone bought the cake box/carrying thing? round white base with a dome in clear plastic that clips to base and a white handle?
Have you noticed it makes your cakes really soggy and wet??
two cakes have gone like this now, both were completely stone cold when put in.
I have had a couple for a while, I haven't had any problems with sponge based cakes but they tend to get eaten with a few days of baking0 -
A book called house proud retails @ £16.99 looks to be old stock as the book has new cover.
It is nice book some good ideas. And if you have someone in the house that is in to revamping and making things, well worth a quid to pop in the christmas stocking.
Talking of christmas sainburys where putting out advent calendars yesterday

I'd recommend this, it would be a nice Christmas gift for the crafty type or anyone doing up a home especially on a budget. I got it from the Book People a few years back, lots of great ideas about updating your furniture (like covering a standard lamp in fabric - awesome!) as well as simpler projects like oven gloves and aprons from vintage fabric (would make lovely Christmas gifts in themselves)Has anyone bought the cake box/carrying thing? round white base with a dome in clear plastic that clips to base and a white handle?

I've got one and not noticed any problems, that said I only store cakes in it that have been iced and waiting to go somewhere so they probably aren't in it much more than overnight. It's great for desserts I'm taking to a party though.0 -
GO TO POUNDLAND and BUY "Scented flowers Shake and Rake"
These are wonderfull seeds - I have had a garden full of flowers this year. I've saved the seeds of some of these too to plant next year. When I planted them earlier this year I seperated out the sunflowers to grow seperately and they are the biggest I have ever seen!!
Also bought a hiscus at £1 land which was a bit slow to start as I left it out of the ground too long, but I think it will flower well next year, and we have had loads of raspberries from a sapling I got from 99p land.
Really think it can be too expensive at a garden centre unless you want something in particular but for a garden full of fruit and veg you can't beat the bargain shops. I also have had enough beetroot to brew wine from them and a vast bed of herbs from seeds bought at my local £1 land in a mixed pack of veg seeds.:T0 -
Just been to the Worthing store and they had some gorgeous kids books, including The Snow Queen, Farmer Hamm and a number of different Nicest Naughtiest Fairy. There was also some cupcake shaped money boxes and for those who didn't manage to get the 9 + 9 free packs of Breakaways, they were advertised in the window - so 18 for £1, which beats the Tesco 18 for £1.55 if you can't find the 100% extra free ones.0
