Some chocolate from Trongate, Glasgow Poundland, just before 2pm:
Ritter Sport 100g (Rum, Raisins, Hazelnut/Marizpan/Salted Caramel/Chocolate & Mint/Cornflakes), £1
(Just before the till area) Nestle Dolca Milk Chocolate 100g, 75p
I should stress that the 75p item has pretty good dates - BBE 01/2023. Same Best Before date as the Ritter Sport Salted Caramel I bought, it turns out, just checked!

Poundland has turned from a go-to store into a big disappointment. No longer is it pleasantly thrilling in its surprise factor, the only surprise these days is just how expensive everything is. I'll still look there before anywhere else if I need anything practical, I'm just no longer enamoured with the prices. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I agree it's been going down hill for around 5-6 year's, I started noticing price differences about 6-12 months after they went on the stock market.Rosa_Damascena said:Poundland has turned from a go-to store into a big disappointment. Prices going up along with shrink-flation made me shop less and less in there. For someone like me who is on a low income I went from doing 20% of my weekly shop there to nothing about 3 year's ago.
The one in the town center used to have queues where you would wait 3 or so minutes to get served with 2-3 staff on. I've been to visit the same one 3 times this year and walked out with nothing and there has been one person manning the till with no customer's to serve.
I know I can get more for my money in home bargains, saver's and Iceland.3 -
I still have a weekly look round Poundland but it's more out of habit than anything else. I normally walk out with nothing, then on to Iceland where I get 10% discount.

Maybe too many other competitors these days, including online, buying up what goods used to be available? Leaving less for Poundland.
Or £1 simply being too low a price to sell anything worth buying at?
Might seem counterintuitive, but maybe Fiverland would bring the fun back? The pound's only worth a third now of its value when Poundland started, and not that long before it's just a fifth1 -
And I presume you pay with topped up (in multiples of £20) Iceland Bonus Card to make it 15% discount?fatbelly said:I still have a weekly look round Poundland but it's more out of habit than anything else. I normally walk out with nothing, then on to Iceland where I get 10% discount.

Bargains at Poundland are few and far between, but can be found. I have bought some L'Oreal lipsticks for £1 recently, a 2-pack of vivid lipsticks (think the exact opposite of "nude") for £1 and this also for just £1:

The colour match is not brilliant but it works as a tint when a drop is mixed into another shade I have, and then diluted with moisturiser. Gives me a slightly "tanned" appearance which works well with a vibrant lip
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I loathe that form of packaging. It's quite popular here in Canada for some reason. Neutrogenia and Marcelle use it. There is no tube attached to the pump and the tube can be hard to use when you are half way through it. It's also really hard to remove the pump bit from the tube to decant the product into a small jar for easier use.Rosa_Damascena said:Bargains at Poundland are few and far between, but can be found. I cut them open and scrape the innards into a small pot. With foundation, a tiny drop goes a long way and I'm not wasting any if I can help it!wondercollie said:
