Think that was the Secret Boss, and the store was Poundworld.
They had used all of the floor space for stock, and had a tiny "room" for staff meal breaks - however, the staff chose to eat/drink outside the front of the store!0 -
Worthing store had some nice looking wall stickers of Toy Story, Cars and Princesses, 3 for £1. I also picked up 'Mater Saves Christmas' hardback book, which looks good for my 5 yr old. There were Cars, Dora, Fairy and Sponge Bob torches in the car / bike / tools section.0

Sorry if it's already been posted, but poundland often sell decent tins of food.
They have 2 for 1 on just now with Heinz soup - the vegetable one is particularly good.0 -
Disney scary Stories in Poundland at the mo - good sized book with tons of quick stories in.
Also the mixed bags of craft supplies are quite good if youre into cardmaking etc or for little ones.

Michael Morpurgo harback illustrated book "Kaspar Prince of Cats". I bought 2 in the cumbernauld store. This is a fantastic bargain. My 10 year old son loves Micael Morpungo books and at a £1 you can't argue with that.0

I have to quote it to them every time (twice now), just so they can laugh a bit more and tell me to "f--- off" - just in more complicated, less honest words than that... Last time I was accused of lying about the item by the woman who served me!
Even though regardless of my honesty, the SOGA STILL assumes that within 6 months, the item was faulty when bought unless proven otherwise by the retailer. It was within 6 months, but apparently after 7 days one cannot bring stuff back to Poundland, even under the SOGA.
Another stupid company undermining our civilised consumer laws, I guess you get what you pay for, but the law is the law. The same one that they are making their profits under without fear of being told to f--- off by the courts if they catch someone shoplifting for example. Hypocrites. What's the difference between this shop and a low-level fraudster? Oh, that's it, they make more money and are seen as a legal business (which when they're not denying statutory rights, they are, but how much of this dishonesty goes on)?
THIS time I had to wait ages for a guy who wasn't even the main manager (who had gone home early apparently). Then they said ring the (0800 at least) customer service number. However, doesn't the SOGA state that one is entitled to a refund/replacement from the point of purchase and so legally doesn't have to bother ringing them up? I don't mind as it's 0800, but I don't want to waste any more time. Why can't they just train their (100% immigrant) muppets in customer service? It's a direct example of immigration subverting British values, if good customer service can be seen as one of the latter, and I'm the offspring of an immigrant, so stow your prejudice, thank-you. It's not where you come from, it's the attitude you bring, including those who brought bad practice to the management of Poundland for those who are in that position and obviously not doing their job fully. But even the lowliest, badly-paid cashier in retail ought to be trained on the SOGA, so why not? Is it a cynical business plan to get more profit by putting customers off from claiming their legal rights?
Also they run out of any of the interesting stock (easy, as it sells well) but don't get any more in, even though there's spare stock in other stores nearby, so it looks like there's not a shortage.
Less-than-perfect management again I assume, not thinking enough about the CUSTOMER's experience and only caring about box-ticking and the final take at the end of the month.
Not cool, and sure, I don't have to shop there, and I generally don't any more. Shame stupid people who shop there and in more expensive places, too, don't exercise their rights more, I ought to stand outside with an ad for moneysavingexpert.com - what do you think, Martin? Can I have a job?
I work for Poundland and as far as I'm aware, with a reciept, you have 28 days to return an item for a refund.Without a reciept all we're allowed to do is offer an exchange. Also, you say they sell out of the interesting stock and don't get it in again, a lot of the products we sell are end of line items and are therefore one-offs.We can only order what's available on the ordering system, when it is available. x0 -
