    Have a great day people.
    Axxx

Edit: got some stuff done in my lunch hour when i nipped home from work. Will have another go this evening when i get in. Got to go give a swimming lesson to a friends children after work.

    Oar sticking in number 2....

ok toottifrootti this one's for you!

It's really hard when you have someone in your life that treats you like this. She's spotted that you are a lovely person and will go out of your way for other people. The problem is that it gets warped. You end up doing more and more, but instead of feeling valued by your friend, and getting a warm feeling of validation, you get a cold miserable feeling of being used. I'm guessing that as a result you kind of end up doing more and more in the hope that she'll notice how much of a fantastic friend you are, and that she start appreciating you.

She won't make you feel good about yourself tooti because if you start feeling confident, you won't do so much for her. How dare she take advantage of you like this. You're not obliged to do any of those things for her, and neither should you.

I had a friend like this, I really put myself out for her... too much to go into now; but when I had to go into hosp for some major surgery, she couldn't be bothered. I was in bed for a month, couldn't bl**dy move. She came round once, and all she wanted to talk about was herself... her cold....her.... pmt... and how bad it was for her.... excuse me???? I'd rather be lonely than have someone like that bleeding me dry.

Shedding friends isn't easy tooti, but for your own self respect you should bin this leech.

End of lecture number 2. ;)

    Thanks Sarahshattered

At the moment, of course, school is closed so I can't get in touch -so the option I am going to give him is to do the round, and get pocket money (plus the £10 per month on the phone I pay) and have the trip. A deposit has been paid which he is paying off at the rate of £5 per week.
    No work=no trip!
Still in bed at the moment.
If he doesn't go on the trip and the deposit is lost (non refundable!) he will pay it.
I am going to be firm on this - thank you for your support.

it may have something to do with the tiredness I'm experiencing [ which I now know is linked to my just diagnosed diabetes]

:p to the diabetes, that's bloomin annoying!! My OH was diagnosed a few years ago, he was NOT impressed. Although it was relief to understand why he was feeling so rubbish! I hope you start feeling better soon. How are they treating you?

Morning lovely ladies, got a busy day today.
Was trying to do some prep work for uni last night and really struggling as i like peace and quiet to study but there is no desk in our bedroom so decided it would be sensible to buy one. However there isnt room to put one in at the moment so(long suffering) hubby and i started rearranging our room at about 11pm:o While rearranging i decided it would be a perfect opportunity to redecorate our long overdue room:D So that is the task for today, we already have the paint so its not going to cost anything, just some blood sweat and probably tears:rotfl: We are kind of in the middle of redoing the whole flat, we painted it when we moved in 5 years ago, but we never glossed because i was 7 months pregnant and the smell made me heave:rolleyes: So i glossed the windows in our room yesterday, just the skirting/door and walls to paint today.
Sorry for the long post, i am kind of doing the master bedroom today!

Valli and Tooti, got nothing really to add, just to say i agree with everyone else! It is a lesson kids really need to learn valli, if he doesnt learn it now, its just going to get harder for you. And that is not a true friend tooti, a friendship should be equal, there are always going to be times that one friend needs the other more. But it shouldnt be totally onesided, hand on heart, would she do for you, what you are do for her?
