Valli, stick to your guns, no job - no PM.
Or tell him he can give it up... when he finds another job!
I worked from 12 (yes, it was illegal but I didn't care) and did not get PM as my parenst could barely afford to buy food at some points (but always managed a drink eh... ) didn't do me any harm and it set me on a good path. Mad it easier to get a proper job when the time came. Makes it easier to get into college also.0 -
Made it to the doctors in time - had 5 minutes to spare in which to try and return my blood pressure to normal after rushing
All fine though for another 6 months. :j
Came home via Somerfield (got some whoopsies), and a charity shop (2 rainbow magic + 2 tiara princess + "the house that grew" books, Aladdin & the king of thieves on video & a blanket for the livingroomGrand total : £4
) then went out to Asda & Aldi (more bargains
:money: ). Then realised I hadn't washed the bedding
So put it all in, washed it (2 x DD's 1x mine ), got DD to make her bed again with the 3rd and last set at 8pm.... 9pm just gone and she shouts me - she'd wet the bed  So my spare/clean bedding is on her bed and I'm now waiting for my bedding to finish drying
Done today :- Beds stripped & washed (& mostly dried now)
- WM x 5
- TD x 2 (the rest is on the maidens and can stay there overnight!)
- Dishes all done
- Shopping
- Doctors
I need sleep so off to at least put the sheets on my bed  I'm washing the bedding the day it comes off from now on whether its a small load or not!
:wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
RedMadCurls - good luck with the new job
Tooti - fwiw I agree with Kaz and Valli regarding your 'friend' - don't feel obliged to do anything, at most I'd probably only do one thing on the list and then only if I enjoyed it and/or she was paying me. Also well done with your list today.
Bad head again so I'm going to bed and will look at the list in the morningDon't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli
Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board0 -

Less tired this morning as I slept well. We have rain again. I'm off to work shortly and will work v. hard today. If I manage to complete the stuff I'm currently working on by the end of tomorrow, I can have 3 days off next week
Wish me luck and have a nice dayI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning All. Well we had so much thunder and lighting last night. It was amazing, and what is even more amazing is that neither of my children woke up during it
DS did wake up 3 tines but he is a big boy now and doesn't have his dummy anymore so not too bad.
Good Luck and +++ work vibes +++ so you can have some days off next week.January Grocery 11/3740 -

Ok I'm going to stick my oar in.....
Valli this one's for you!!!
Your DS is trying to manipulate you. You've signed up for the trip on the understanding that he'd work on the paper-round to contribute. He doesn't want to do the paper-round...ok... cancel the trip. Speak to the school and see if you can cancel and not lose any money. There are usually one or two kids hoping someone will drop out in order that they can get on the trip.
This seems quite a pivotal moment in your relationship IMHO. If he realises that he can back out of his agreement with you, and still get to go on his trip.... what lesson has he learnt? That Mum's a soft touch, and he doesn't need to stick to his promise, and being idle pays...cos Mum will!
My children can be horrors, just the same as all of them can be, but it's our responsibility to show them that life isn't the way they want it to be, sitting on their bum, doing stuff all, and waiting for Mum to pick up the slack.
Valli.... I'd be SO firm on this one, however hard it is, I would not back down. He works to contribute, or he doesn't go. End of.
End of lecture....MMSSB Club Founder Member

Same here, lovely storm (not so good for my washing that was on the line) I was watching from a pub garden worrying that kids were waking up but they slept right through. Only after the storm DS2 woke up teething and didn't go to sleep for ages.
OH text while I was out to say he'd befriended a hedgehog that he found on the doorstep and fed it DS1's left over dinner. yeah he's such a big tough guy!:rolleyes:June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Morning.......we got the storms last night about 11pm. The storm was right overhead at one point and a house in Ipswich got struck. Apparently there is now a whole in their roof: fortunately no one was hurt.
I agree with the others Valli........don't give way to him. It's important for kids to realise that the world [ or in this case mum] doesn't owe them anything. If you want something, you earn it.......it's called responsibility!
Today I really must get things done. Don't know why but I am really unmotivated at the moment.......but then again it may have something to do with the tiredness I'm experiencing [ which I now know is linked to my just diagnosed diabetes]We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
