            Hello everyone!
Woke up to a grey and rainy sunday here so no gardening for me. Instead I have been posting recipes over on the grocery challenge and trying to decide what to eat this afternoon with just what is in the fridge.
Cat is curled up on the desk next to me purring away and I have to admit I have Eastenders on in the background as I type this!! I am really missing my garden. Due to ill health I cannot stand for long so unless I can get out there and sit down, I can't go out there. So - here I am waiting for the next sunny day, or at least dry day so I can check up on all my tomatoes and pepper plants! The pepper and chilli plants on the window sill are doing great - it was so exciting when the first peppers and chillis started to grow!
Ok, back to dinner - just checked out the fridge and I have lots of veg and potatoes and for some reason some sausage meat that needs using up so I think I will go and invent something..
I don't know many of you yet but wanted to say to Penny pincher - honey, you cannot stop your sister making a mistake with this guy - all you can do is support her and be there for her once it all goes wrong. Criticizing him while she is besotted will just force her to choose him. It's really hard I know to watch someone make such an obviously bad choice but we all have our own paths in life and she is very lucky to have a sister like you who loves her so much! You can't help but get angry, but don't let it ruin your day, there will come a time when she really needs you and she will see how amazing you are to be there for her. Hope that makes sense, and you don't think I am being presumptuous in giving my opinion...
I hope everyone has a good sunday.:D
Diva. xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
            Afternoon
Sistercass - Happy Anniversary
Bethosboy - Good luck with your journey and new start
Soba - Hope you get on holiday asap
Candygirl - I will definately be buying Mama Mia when it comes out on DVD - didnt fancy the Batman film at all. Waiting for James Bond later this year.
PennyPincher - I echo what everyone else has said, I definately know how you feel though as have a DSis who is very good at chosing the wrong man.
Had a productive morning this morning and went out for lunch which wasnt too bad. Having a chill now. Cant decide what to do tomorrow, DS wants to go to London but OH and DD dont want to go. I would be grateful of the day at home doing paperwork but will feel guilty. Think will see how I feel in the morning.
Off now think I will have a coffee and a sit down with a good book.

Sunnyday - you're more than welcome to join our knitting thread - there's lots and lots of things that lots and lots of deserving causes need!
Thanks, Pippa, for telling Sunnyday about us! I liked your reminisences about the 60s - I remember my Dad saying I looked like a clown in my make-up and moaning about my mini-skirt - little knowing that I hitched it up even higher when I left the house!
PenPin - like others have said, she is a big girl now; much as you love her, there's nothing you can do and the last thing you should be doing is getting stressed about it. You HAVE to look after yourself - that's an order!
Sistercas - Happy Anniversary - there really should be a smiley for anniversaries, shouldn't there?
Well, we've been to Hobbycraft and found just enough of the ribbon left in there that I need so I am now all set to assemble the rest of the favours.
Catznine - yes, the wedding is on Friday at 4pm! We knew two years ago and all of a sudden it's here!
It's been a very dull day here - no sun at all; I'm just about to put the Remoska on with potatoes and pork chops and we'll have brocolli and mashed swede with it. We have chocolate for pudding - I decided to have a change from the Cadbury's Turkist Delight and chose the Caramel one instead.
I also need to freeze a load of blackberries - I haven't time to use them this week but don't want to leave them all for the birds!
Anyway, I'd better get the dinner on.
See you all later. Hope you are all having a good day.

Afternoon all, bit of a late one today.
Have skimmed through, can't remember much, but Martyn, please keep in touch. I hope your new start/life go brilliantly
Dogrose, sorry to hear your news, the flowers will be lovely I'm sure.
PenPin, please look after yourself too, hard as it is, your sister will have to deal with her own problems....
((((((((hugs))))))) to all those needing them too, I know there are lots.
Bit of a traumatic day today. My oldest DD (16) heard early this morning that one of her best friends died this morning. I had to take her to another friend's house where the kids were gathering, think they are all very stunned. As am I. We're not sure what happened, other than he was found unconscious, struggling to breathe in his room & died just after reaching hospital. She obviously has not gone away to my sisters in Bognor, so I've had to take the other 2 there & get back again so I can be home for her. At the moment I have a large collection of teenagers in my lounge & garden, watching tv, chatting. Think it's all very surreal for them.... I wish I could do something to stop her hurting but I can't. All I can do is hug her. I hope she will chat to my sister once she has got over the shock a little, as my sis was only 15 when we lost our dad & then 6 months later she lost a friend who was 17 to cancer, so she has some idea of how DD may be feeling. It's just so very very sad...

            Hello everyone
I'm having too much of a lazy day today. I have to get a wiggle on as there is a parental visit threatened! There's nothing like a visit from mother to get me motivated. It has been quite showery today, so I've been running in and out with washing. It's wo*kwear and really need to have something available for the morning.
PenPen, I agree with the others regards your sister. If she's "in love" she will be immune to any advice warning her off this bloke and trying to point out his bad points to her may only cause some resentment. She'll figure out eventually if he's good news or bad news.
I need to nip out for some bread and milk, otherwise this has been a virtually spend free weekend:T
Bye for now
Snowy
OMG Squiggly - how absolutely dreadful. His family and all his friends must be devestated.0 -
