Adams are actually doing some lovely occasion dresses. They are beautiful for a little girl. I got my little girl an outfit for a wedding there.Corrina + brood!! :grouphug:0

Why dont you do a few big dishes like chilli, or chicken curry or lasagne with salad and a couple of cakes etc. Could work out a bit cheaper?Corrina + brood!! :grouphug:0

Well, we got a dress from Debenhams today :T - fab and not too old fashioned ... it's also white and blue, which avoids the mass pink frenzy people seem to go through when they have girls ... have also got some little white socks which if it's a bit cold she can wear. I'm going to see if I can also get a small amount of white wool and knit her a shawl just in case ...
Mother in law has found the wafer roses that she didn't use when she made the fairy cakes for our wedding so we're going to use the same recipe and idea for Christening cakes. Sandwiches cut out in animal shapes so the little ones will eat them (and we can keep the edges for packed lunches for the week!)
We're also going to try to get a Makro card (I'm self-employed so we should be able to) to get the crisps and things we'll need that we can't make ourselves.
Still waiting for the invites to arrive - we bought them from Ebay - to get them sent out ....
Feels like we're getting somewhere though.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -

Can anybody help me?
I need a nice (not tacky) gift idea for a friend who is going to be christened at the age of 7.
All I can find is the usual gift stuff so any novel/original ideas would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance...I haven't got one!0 -
I expect you have thought about a cross and chain necklace etc. What about a christening mug ?. you can have the child's name and dates etc printed on them. Nice to keep.0

A nice edition of a classic book such as Alice in Wonderland, you could write an inscription inside.
Was also thinking charm bracelet.
A large Disney snow globe to keep
A nice piece of artwork to hang in her room
