I'm sure they will be pleased with any present you give as it's the thought that counts.

I like the idea of book sets. Roal Dahl would be lovely for the older child and Beatrice Potter or something similar for the younger children. A childrens bible or bible stories are also nice gifts to give.

My DD was given a mixture of collectable ornaments which gather dust nicely!! and books, jewellery and money. I used the money for premium bonds.

  • You could buy a nice bound copy of Winnie the Pooh. RedHouse are selling theirs for £9.99, usually £29.99.

Depending on your budget you could buy the Mr Men and Little Miss Books, they too are going cheaply on Redhouse

storybooks shold always be fine, moneyboxes we ended up with 4 for our little boy, hard enough to fill one! For a couple of christenings we're due to attend shortly we found this site www.picturesonwood.co.uk and have got a trinket box and keepsake box personalised for them with names/birthdates etc. Also liked the little stools but decided against that for now, may do it for a boy in future though if we have any more to attend.

I don't know if it's any help or not but if you type the word 'personalised' into ebay it will show some interesting Christening stuff. Might be too late for ordering from ebay though.

We adore the'peep curious' Love spoon that a Godmother gave to our children. It is a small silver love spoon with a tiny pep hole at the end which displays a Baptism prayer - adorable keepsake!
    It's from https://www.woodsetton.co.uk

We also like the silver bookmark given to us, i've seen them inErnest jewellers for about £20

The works had some lovely book sets on offer today. Many reduced from £50 to £12. My favourite was the BP collection. Beautifully illustrated and bound.

  • I have just bought a present for my nephew who is nearly 18 months - we got him a nice hardback edition of both Cat in the Hat books in a velvety cover - half price in Waterstones. When my children were Christened, we got quite a few ornament type things which have been gathering dust ever since. A nice book or a Children's Bible would be good or a set of kids cutlery.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

  • I must be very boring (or out of touch) I bought both of my god daughters a silver necklace with a cross on to keep, and a big toy for them to play with now.
seemed to go down well though

How about a newspaper of the day they were christened. A true MSE present - if it's not a sunday it'll only cost you about 40p:rotfl:
