If u don't mind travelling. There is an exquisit little shop in Cawthorne in Barnsley s/yorks. It looks like a card shop from the outside but inside they had a selection of handmade christening gowns, made by a lady who lives in the village. My mum bought my daughters christening gown there last year. It is gorgeous and unlike the dresses u get in the normal shops. I came up from london to go there. it was worth it. the dress was really something special. I think it was around £70. not bad as it was hand made. I could probably find the name of the shop if your interested.HOW MUCH ?0

Going to a christening on sunday but have no idea what to write in the card!
Do I address it to the baby, the parents, or the whole family?
What should the card say?
I'm puzzled can anyone help xI say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
I usually address it to the family. I would just right what you feel.(unless that is coerced into going or going because you couldn't think of an excuse in time) My son had some lovely cards - some just had to XXX love from whoever whereas others had written about how special he is and how wanted he was and what a special day it was. It's the thought that counts.0

I usually write the card to the child and put something like "with love on your special day". The Christening cards are usually the ones which are kept and looked through when the child is older so it's nice to personalise them a bit if you know the child well.0

Depends on how much you want to spend. A limited edition collectable porcelain doll, maybe even in a Christening outfit can be bought for £15 - £150 and will increase in value as well as being something that can be on display in the childs room as she grows.
A 'cheap' idea I did once for someone I didn't know well enough to spend lots of cash on was I bought a teddy bear (again you can go basic or collectible) and went to an engravers and got a heart shaped dog collar tag and had the baby's name engraved on one side and the date of their Christening on the other side then tied it around the teddy's neck with fancy ribbon. Another way would have been to put a silver necklace engraved in the same way on the bear for the child to wear when she got older.I'm a little angel
